Ukraine actually, but there's no Ukrainian translation of TCTC, and Russian is my mother tongue, so I'd likely avoid such a thing, probably not to die from laughter. Ukrainian translators tend to translate Russian translations. It's hard to imagine those of TCTC getting even worse, but such attitude is always great help, like with the translation of LOTR. Russian for "being white" is written almost like Ukrainian for "underwear", so this led to Saruman being told he's lost his underwear. :offtopic:

I re-read the whole series anticipating that AATE was the last book. When I arrived at the end, starving for more, and read that the last book isn't due until 2013 I flipped my lid!!!!
I immediately turned to the internet to see if maybe the release date had been accelerated; a vain and somewhat futile hope. I say somewhat because I found this forum, got turned on to Mordant's need and am looking forward to The Gap!!

Welcome to the Watch, LeMoyne :welcome:

Can I help you somehow, like show where some interesting things are or do you already know all that from Danlo or some other way? And don't you want to visit the "Welcome Visitors & New Members !! - Say Hello in HERE :)" thread - new people usually greet and get greeted there. kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3880

And :bestwishes: here.

You looked for the Kevin's Watch, you've found the Kevin's Watch. That's really unusual.

On the internet corny is to look for something to do with your work and to find pr0n instead. To find something so close to what you were looking for is nearly a miracle.

So, you can now say you're here with the help of a miracle. :D

Edit: Apparently I'm not alone in thinking along those lines  Thanks, Lorin :D

Effaeldm? Who in the Hellfire is this person and when did they take over form Menolly as the official tour guide?. :P You know there once was a time when people got on the Watch and figured things out for themselves-back when we had brains and weren't plastic robots---GRRRR! So...

Danlo, did you just call all the new people here brainless plastic robots? Well, some do have brains, in many different places. Image

And we work well together with Menolly. I don't have her comfortable, feeling like home manner of welcoming, but I like to greet people. And I do so when I don't forget and the people don't run away too fast.

Be Welcome to the Watch, LeMoyne.
Be Well Come and True.

Ooo...
From the Phoogle, my guess is you know danlo IRL.
Nice!

pshaw.
All concierge's can use fresh insight once in a while.
If Effaeldm keeps it up, I just may suggest she join me as co-mod here, if LF ever tires of greeting n00bs to the Watch. ;)

But I don't want that. That is, LF removed from the Summonsing mods. I like his warm greetings, like
Lord Foul wrote:Welcome to the Watch! Bwa ha ha ha! :evilfoul: I am your greeter, the inestimably lovely and insidiously despicable Lord Foul. You can become a groveler now, if you want. I would, if I were before such suzerainty!

I'd agree to be the 3rd mod though, there are three in the General Discussion after all. No removing variants wanted. Though the much more likely variant is me not getting to be a mod here. Which is quite fine with me as well.

Edit: And, as a person suggested to be suitable for a mod, I already feel some responsibility. To say all the last posters are off-topic!

Well, including me.Image

It's an (English?) hello.

A dialect word, can be a greeting, a confirmation of agreement. In one of the dialects is generally used as a greeting but can also be used as an expression of shock, or to ask someone how they are.

"You have one word that means Hello, How are you, Whats this, Hang on a minute and bloody hell! (Ayup..)"

More or less from here, though compressed by me for less details www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ayup

Though Feanor most likely means hello, maybe how are you as well. :)

Suitable to be a mod?...yea yea, keep brown-nosing, suck-up...that's what it's for, being a mod...fluffing each others feather-pillows...I don't think a mod has ever even talked to me, except silly robo-Menolly..."welcome to the watch, be wel" yadda yadda yadda.
I don't think ya got it in ya...sure, y'can play kissy-kissy, and mystery posts with Sgt. Null, and that's what they do nowadays, all "I say, chaps, that's a bit ad-hominem...shall we take some tea, and reduce the rhetoric?"
We need mods that have a set, step up and use all caps AND BOLD FACE "HEY YOU! STFU OR GO BACK TO TROLLING THE DANIELLE STEEL SITES"

 Perhaps I should fine-tune my sense of humour. If me posting off-topic, after posting off-topic a few times earlier, and then saying people are off-topic, then saying the same about myself being off-topic did look so serious.

Edit: As for me saying some good things about the people here and the Watch in general, that's partially because I mean it. Partially because I'm usually in a good mood when here, just remembering the reason I'm here - the SRD's books can do a lot for that, and the atmosphere here is good.

Also because I don't want to spoil being here, or get thrown out, and my strange sense of humour alone can get me that in many places, though that will be only to start with.

And I generally am polite and speaking with the use of manners - I mean that not like some good habit many people have. It's closer to nearly instinctively being close to the model of behavior certain people I'm much like have. Though that's not a good explanation as well.

And on being a mod - not necessarily here, anywhere - I'm actually not sure. On the upside, it's feeling like something cool and may allow for some help for the Watch. But, on the downside, the actual possibilities are next to none, and there are responsibilities, though looks like on the Watch there aren't too much of them. And, which could be well guessed, I like the possibilities, not the responsibilities.

...At least in that I'm like most normal people. 8O

And one more thing to the downside - I have to forewarn, maybe you'd seriously not want me around on the Watch, let alone in the mod position, had you known me better. I don't mean I intend no good or want to be thrown out, that's what I am like, just had to say.
