Sorry, Balon.

Friday used to be my Monday, so I know how that feels.

With the record-breaking heatwave here, no AC most of the time, not being a fan of extreme heat, commute taking extra long because of power outages which are probably due to the heat... work week pushing 80 hours including commute... yeah, I am glad it's Friday.

Hope you're feeling better, Sea! (And SoS too, of course.)

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

Hey Balon, when does the new Indiana Jones movie come out? Is that next weekend? (Why yes, I *am* too lazy to look it up, thanks! )

The heat is killing me and cars. My shop is so full I can't even move anything around in it and I have some cars parked on the street.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

AND to top it off I have had this customer calling all day wanting to price every possible repair the car might ever need in the next ten years.... ugh.....

I started work two hours early in the hope that I could leave two hours early, avoid some of the heat, and get home at a civilized hour, but now FedEx is late picking up a delivery that HAS to go out today, which means I am going to miss my train. And it's 93 degrees with no AC.

I'm in love. With a bone. (Not that bone.)

I'm in love with the sphenoid bone. It look like a beetle, and I think I'm going to incorporate it into my next tattoo, as a butterfly/beetle/moth thing.

Image

It's a bone in your head that (almost) every other bone in the face connects to. It's pretty friggin sweet.

This picture is also cool:

I'm great. I just finished my Trimur-Nakati manuscript (101,000 words), about to send it off to various publishers. I'm also looking for a teaching position, while I try to find a masters program. I'm a little nervous about standing in front of a class, but I think I'm good at presenting understandable info. I'm a football player-turned-English Major, so I know how to convert folks.

Congrats, Lord Foul. And I think you'll do fine as a teacher. You've got the sense of humor to be an English prof. ;)

Seareach wrote:even though your first pic ain't working in the link it says "belfast" and so I assume we're talking about that quaint Irish game called Hurling (good thing my Mr is Irish eh). Unfortunately it's the latter (although I ain't seen no pumpkin seeds--or carrot--in either of our spew!).

I'm feeling a bit better, but I've just spent half an hour cleaning SoS and his bed and his walls. How some kid who has been chucking so much can have so much spew in him i don't know (well, I do: I have him lemonade and a sandwich. dumb mum! :P).
Okay, I corrected the pic. Sorry. Stupid pictures working in the preview, but not when you leave it for 5 minutes. But yes, it was the Irish game, and figured you'd know it because of your hubby. Sorry to hear about the great gallons of barf.

Me? How do I feel today? Especially let down by my workplace. I think after June it will be time to go through the unpleasantness of job searching. I've stuck around long enough here (9 months) to realize that I'll probably not get anywhere here, and from the beginning I got the impression it wasn't a good fit for me. I need a place that values hard work over ass-kissing. If I hadn't worked at a few places that do have that belief system before, I wouldn't know they existed.

Either that or I just need a complete career change that is not corporate by nature.

Alright! Glad to hear it, Lore.

I'm feeling pretty good. Narnia opening was bad, but not as bad as it could've been. I think the sun being out killed some of the customers coming to see a flick, so it made it a LITTLE less busy. Which was good, cause some of the newbies still need practice..
