Sorus wrote:"The dragon has three heads" prophecy makes more sense with the book version. Who is the third on the show?
There was one scene which seemed to show that Tyrion was also accepted by the Dragons.
For some, this moment gives credence to the popular fan theory that Tyrion could be one of the prophesied figures known as the three heads of the dragon, i.e., he will eventually be one of the three people who rides Daenerys' three dragons. Others believe Tyrion's easy rapport with the fire-breathing creatures also indicates he is the son of Joanna Lannister and the Mad King (Aerys Targaryen) rather than Tywin Lannister - meaning he is actually a Targaryen.

I don't get it.

:?

How does wishing for the two main characters to live happily ever after make me the Hound? I didn't realize he's the romantic type.

Hmmm, I didn't remember that. Only the guy who stole the helmet from the grave and people thought he was the hound. (Don't make me go back and read these again... :D ) Was it made explicit that it was he? Or only implied?

Only implied. Was in A Feast for Crows. And seems to be confirmed by the way the Hound reappeared in the show.

The survival of Rhaegar Targaryen and Elia Martell's son will cause some complications. Especially if they both have the same name.
RIGHT??!! I was wondering the same thing.

the last Barathion maybe? yeah I've seen the Tyrion theories but I don't think so. but i'd always assumed it was a Stark/Lannister/Targareyon thing, but it could be Stark/Targareyon/Barathion I suppose. <shrug> I guess I was the only one thinking that because everyone else seems to think 3 Targareyons (dragon has 3 heads and all).

I was thinking that all the dudes were going to die in ep3 and only pregnant women would be left alive and the babies would all be in contention but...well...there goes that theory! I didn't remember that Dany could no longer have babies. I mean...it makes sense but i'd forgotten, so I thought well everyone is having sex before the big fight so prolly Dany/Jon baby, Arya/Gendry baby, Cersi/ whoever's baby...who IS her baby daddy anyway? ...etc so on and so forth.

well I don't remember who the third was but just before all the dead collapsed the last we saw of Brienne and Jamie was they were up against a wall fighting and after the collapse there was a shot of them still up against that wall alive looking out at the dead. like I said, I don't remember who the third was, could've been Grey Worm or maybe Podrick, but Brienne and Jamie are definitely alive...yeah I think the third was Pod. I think the only people dead are the ones we actually saw die.

Let me say it this way: how could they have survived pinned against a wall and surrounded by Wights for such a long time, given that the wights were able to wipe out the Dothraki in eight seconds, overtop the defended walls of Winterfell in twelve seconds, and even almost take out a Dragon? How is it that the wights were so effective, but could not kill Jaime, despite sufficient numbers and sufficient opportunity? It's not plausible.

I grant you we did not see them die and so they probably didn't. But it's not plausible.

Agreed. I would think exhaustion would set in and down they'd go. Sam most of all since he's already proven he doesn't have much stamina.

... Sam most of all because he was laying on his back with wights piled on top of him.
At one point Sam almost cowers in fear as Brienne and Jaime battle a growing horde of undead.

Another moment sees Jon run past Sam, who is struggling on the ground with White Walkers in a pile of bodies.

Jon makes the decision to leave his best friend to fend for himself to take on ice dragon Viserion instead.

Where Jon has usually leapt to Sam's defence in battle, this war was so integral he realised he may have to leave his friend to die.

Ostensibly Jaime, but my theory is that she isn't really pregnant, or that it isn't Jaime's. Most likely the first. She's just manipulating people.

"The king will have 20 children and you will have three."

1. Joffrey
2. Myrcella

Nope. None more.

Speaking of babies, Daenerys' infertility is a good argument against her winning the throne. There'd just be another war of succession when she dies. (Not to say that a woman should only be valued for her ability to procreate of course, just that this is how things work in Westeros.)

I bet Jon's resurrected Targaryen seed could quicken Daenerys's womb. 8)

Besides, weren't we told by the witch (or whatever) that she'd never have anymore children? Why is her word set in stone? People once thought there'd never be anymore dragons, either, that the eggs were fossils.

In the end, this is a show about magic and rebirth. I don't think she necessarily has to be infertile.

Daenerys said last season that the dragons would be her only children. Which doesn't necessarily make it true. There are some fan interpretations that suggest parts of the prophecy have already occurred. That bit always felt more like a curse - you'll get what you want when hell freezes over - rather than a prophecy. And even if it is a prophecy, it's certainly not literal. Interesting that they left out the line from the book about how Khal Drogo will return after Daenerys has a living child. Prophecy isn't literal, of course, so that could mean either that it's something that will never happen, or that she will have a child and name him after Khal Drogo. (Or she'll be in bed with Jon and their new baby when Khal Drogo waltzes through the door, sitcom style. How do you say "Honey, I'm home!" in Dothraki?)

There was also a bit where Tyrion tries to discuss the line of succession with her, and she basically tells him that they'll cross that bridge when they come to it.

If she doesn't marry Jon, he and any children he might have would be the heirs. I really don't see him marrying her - it's obviously complicated by the fact that he had feelings for her before Sam dropped the identity bombshell - but he was raised as a Stark, and I don't see him being comfortable with the idea of marrying his aunt.

I totally think Danny IS pregnant. And Im with Jon when Danny told him she couldnt have children .. because of the word of an old witchy woman.

Excellent Wayfriend of course Tyrion was accepted kinda by the dragons. Well they didnt eat him.

But he has NO Targarian blood .. which isnt to say he couldnt be the third head.

NIIIIICCCCEEEE

Spoiler
I feel like Varys was really begging to be turned in as a traitor and executed, the way he laid everything out to Tyrion after Tyrion made his loyalty clear. Feels like another place where the show pulls its punches.

On that subject, I'm also surprised Cersei wouldn't take such a clear opportunity to kill Tyrion. Yeah, sure, kill Missandei to make your point - but you could've made the same point by shooting him, as well as getting something Cersei's wanted for years.

I dunno, habit? Plus the other comments on this episode had been vague so far.

And yeah, I thought of that too.
