I don't crave anything at the moment, as I just devoured some chips with salsa.

If you're a cellphone user, when did you get your first cell?

I got my first cell phone on my 20th birthday (1 1/2 years ago), three months after everyone else in my family. I had told them I did not want one and did not need one. Now I have no idea what I'd do without one.

You are stuck on a deserted island. Which 3 people (can be friends/family, celebrities, alive/dead/fictional, etc.) do you want to be stuck on that island with you and why?

Before Sunrise-era Julie Delpy -- because she's someone I could talk to about everything under the sun, plus there has to be a blonde somewhere in this trio

MacGyver -- because he could figure out a way to get off the island, or at the very least teach the rest of us how to make fire on this godforsaken island.

Terisa Morgan from Mordant's Need -- because MacGyver could fashion a mirror for her, and then she could translate all of us away from the island.

Are you handing out goodies to trick-or-treaters this Halloween night?

I would, but our house is on some majorly scary roads with no sidewalks. So I would be shocked if parents let their kids wander down it.

what is your favorite Halloween costume to dress up in?

The one I tried out this year. I borrowed a dress that a friend of mine has that was made using the pattern of one of Eowyn's dresses from the LotR movies, did my hair like Eowyn's, wore this really antique-looking neclace, and some sandals that just seemed to fit with the outfit. It was the most comfortable dress I've ever worn (I hate dresses), and I felt pretty. My friend promised to make me a dress just like it for Christmas.

Now that Halloween is over, what's on your Christmas list?

My sister is really into buttons for political and social causes, and I found a few that she doesn't have yet, so that will definitely be a part of her gift.

Would you rather swim in jello or chocolate? And why would anyone want to swim in either?!

Haven't had Kool-Aid since I was a kid. I'll say watermelon.

What's your favorite cartoon strip?

It was BC until it was banned in my newspaper. I haven't really read the comics much since then. My paper never really had much of a selection.

Do you tend to buy generic brands?

if they're cheaper. I don't see the point in wasting money on essentially the same product for someones name.

where do you buy most of your groceries?

by Auleliel
Pick'n'Save, for two reasons. 1. It is the closest grocery store, both at home and at university. 2. My sister is a Pick'n'Save employee and she said she'd kill me if I shopped anywhere else--if I must be killed I'd like it to be for a more interesting reason.

What/whom would you die for?

All of the people I love. And any heroic cause that called for it. I have a sort of hero complex when it comes to my own death. I've always daydreamed it in some large and meaningful way, usually in defense of someone else.

When were you born?

The Year of the Boar.

Will you vote today?

No, because I turned in my ballot yesterday.

Do you think we'll ever see a non-Democrat or Republican president?

Given that the US has had other political parties in the past than Democrats and Republicans, I expect we will have another major party at some point. But it won't be any time soon.

A lot of places are giving out free food/drink to people who have voted. Do freebies motivate you to turn out at the polls?

No. . . my own ethical system does that. I can't stand people who never vote, yet complain about the outcome. ;)

I don't think in those terms. I just appreciate the thought behind the gift.

What would be your top priority if you were President of the United States?

My top priority would be to get myself out of office and put a decent candidate there instead.
