Answer a question, and ask a new one.

What is your favorite 'good memory' song, and why?

For me, it'd have to be 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'. I don't know, I guess it just takes me back to a simpler time, after I finished greiving for my father, who was killed in a stampede caused by my uncle (Yes, dad, I remember; relax, will you? People are starting to stare!), but before I took on the weight of leadership.

So, what's your favorite 'sad' song? They say so much, you know.
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

I love Eleanor Rigby. It's beautiful, and sad, and a commentary on modern life all in one.

Considering that's about 90% of Western Washington weather, I do everything I do in sunny weather except lay in the hammock. That requires sunlight.

What a book you've read lately?

I just read the first and second books in the Pellinor series. They were very good, and I am waiting for the newest one to come out in trade paperback so I can read it. I can't afford hardcovers at full price. ;)

What are you glad about right now?

I refuse to eat either, for taste and health reasons. Both disgust me so much I will not touch even a sealed jar.

This is one of those trick questions that job interviewers ask, isn't it? :P Okay then: I can't think of a superpower I'd want. I can pretty much handle everything that needs handling in my life with my current capabilities.

A bowl of Cheerios with skim or 2% milk. And maybe some fruit, especially an orange or a grapefruit. A bagel with cream cheese, if I can get it.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, what cartoon character would you bring with you, and why?

Mega-man. Bodyguard.

You can hang with any dead political figure (assume ability to converse, no danger to harm, etc...). Who do you choose?

Great question!! Benazir Bhutto. I would want to know where she got the courage to lead in a culture that systemically oppresses women, and what were the main pressures for corruption and how she withstood them.

If you could meet and talk with any living political figure (same disclaimer as Balon gave), who would it be and why?

Barack Obama or John McCain. It'd be interesting for a white male middle class homie like me to have a nice long conversation with a potential presidential candidate.

My tastes are hard to define. I like music that tells stories or is surreal or funny. Things that go beyond just the normal lyrics about love and sex, or at least that do it in such a way that makes them feel new. I think since I've been a singer most of my life, I'm drawn especially to good lyrics. I've found that my tastes are generally classified as "alternative," though that seems more of a catch-all for those that do something other than the norm. Pop is typically what I like though - I dig a good musical hook.

Oops...forgot to ask a question. Which is easier to find - a good friend or a romantic partner?

I'm not certain it's possible to have a good romantic partner that isn't a good friend.

What musical instrument would you most want to master?

Actually I didn't say "good romantic partner."

But anyway...

I'd most want to master the guitar. I've always loved the sound, and it would be easier to start a band or at least busk.

Toe-may-toe or toe-mah-toe?
