I like this thread.
Misery likes company!

Thank you to all those who had kind words for me earlier.
And good luck to those who have had troubles since!

I'm feeling pretty damn good.

Wife and I are working it out and work seems good again (although it's an elusive "good")
The pain in my side is not gall stones!
Ultrasound came back fine.
Doctor has no idea actually.
Could do more tests but it comes and goes.
So screw it.
I went online and found a page that made me say "WHAT THE HELL?"
Seems a lot of people have what I have and no one knows why.
Others have had the same ultrasound that I had in addition to bloodwork, and all other types of invasive nasty tests that I can't spell properly.
And they all come back with "no clue" from their doctors.
Seems it might be stress related and it might go away with vitamins and exercise and lots of crack cocaine.
(hey it's on the internet so it must be true)
I can handle mental related illnesses.
If it's not real....f#ck it.
If it gets worse or doesn't go away then I'll go back.
The mind is a wild thing!

Well, I was issued a subpoena today.

I'm supposed to be a witness in a trial that my uncle's having. Don't see why there's need of a trial. The guy got drunk, walked up to our (my grandparent's) property and started screaming and hollering. He at one point threatened to shoot open the door.

My grandmother bought him the lawyer. Couldn't believe that. She's always an apologist for him, though. They're both messed up. She drives him everywhere, washes his clothes, etc. He's a 48 year old adolescent, basically.

I remember that night: was a school night, and I woke up with an adrenaline rush to hear screaming outside. My grandfather was still on his walker because of knee surgery. My grandmother had hid the phone so my grandfather wouldn't call the cops. General chaos and yelling that took a couple days to shake out of my system.

And now I have to suffer more, if I don't get excused from this trial. I'll miss a day of school and possibly miss TWO MIDTERMS on Monday. I'm the victim AGAIN.

Anyway, here's hoping I'm excused from attending this mess.

Hope things work out well for you and HLT alike Foul. Thanks for the good wishes all, just getting out of ICU after 12 days seems to have done my mother a world of good.

Now my next problem looms on the horizon...I might have to be in court myself sometime soon...we're in the process of getting my brother committed, but obviously due to ill health, my mother's going to be pretty incapable, so chances are I'm going to have to go and do the court application. *sigh* Can't wait for all this shit to be over.

All kidding aside, I am well and truly sorry, Av. I'm a case worker who deals with mentally ill adults on a daily basis. . . and I've had to assist in some involuntary holds (temporary--like 96 hours for observation). Is your situation anything similar to what I deal with? If so, feel free to ask me any questions. . I don't know the first thing about your legal system, but I might know other things. Best wishes. .

 Nah, he's not mentally ill in any legally or medically recognised sense. But he's been a heroin addict for nearly 10 years, and as a result is incapable of taking care of himself. The committal is effectively only going to be a court order to keep him at the facility he's at now.

With it in place, even if he leaves, he'll be taken straight back. It's more to keep him out of my mothers hair than anything else. The stress involved was certainly a major contributor to her heart attack.

Thanks for the offer though.

Seriously. Men don't seem to know this but cranberry juice is a gift from the gods. Just drink it until you need to vomit and you'll be fine.

Cranberry juice is great. And it slows down ageing.

Yay!! It's Waddley!! You were missed!

And yes, there are pills. I once had a UTI :shifty: and after that I started taking cranberry supplements. I take them daily in softgel formula.
