Bought a pair of decent sneakers for the first time ever. Used always to get cheap ones. Can't believe the difference in traction.

I saw a deer cross the road today. It was a big deer, massive. Could have jumped over my car if he wanted to. I thought it was cool.

i fed the nutria rat and her babies some watermelon and cantaloupe. she has two slightly older babies and four new babies. the live in the river behind my kitchen. one fence between them and me.

the river is mostly gone, but the rats are living in a drain pipe that empties in the (former) river.
