I think it's time we realize it's quite an amazing thing to be on this planet and to be the advanced creatures that we are. We could've been sponges or worse!

Being mysterious only works if you're tall dark and handsome and called 'V'. If you're fat bald and 50 attempting to be mysterious can get you into a heap of trouble! (:P)

I got my brain back from the cleaners, and now I get to play with brains! (mainly my own)

And by that I mean - I have some joy and energy atm, and I had a lot of fun tutoring math yesterday, and I keep getting all these great ideas, and actually TRYING them out. 8O

I'm going to take my cup of coffee and sit in bed to read for a while. That make me happy.

I continue to meet people who see the world with clear eyes and I am always grateful for that. People who see clearly always have a better sense of reality and even if that frightens us it nevers fails to inspire awe. What is is awesome and we are blessed to have a chance to experience it.

Ussusimiel, the positivity of your post is a tonic of sorts just on it's own. I've had a dreadful week or so and must (repeat must) learn to retain my composure and take what positives I can, even from the worst of situations. Surely that can't be too hard can it - especially when you are of an age where frankly, nothing really mattters very much anyway.

I am glad you got something from my post, peter. My positivity is a result of adversity rather than ease, as you probably guessed.

This is how it looks outside our front door now, without the snow (hasn't snowed yet- this is from last year!). decorations are all up, though.

Agreed, but do you really reside at the end of a commercial lane, as the photo appears to represent?

No only is there the Foamfollower quote about there being time enough to refine the spirit when the body has no other choice, but might we assume that Watchers already have built a modicum of character? Most of those with whom I am acquainted are certainly characters of surpassing uniqueness!

I agree with MsMary -- nice view, Ananda. And nice location, too, I think. :)

Yes and no. We live there, but it's not a commercial lane like you think of in the us. We live in a nice flat in the building you can't see to the left. This is the main street in the city and swedish main streets have a lot of small businesses. Just within walk is a book store, newspaper, bakery, cheese shop, some restaurants, some clothes boutiques and so. We don't allow strip malls and giant industrial malls inside the city and so the mainstreet is preserved. There is obviously no car traffic allowed on this street and the surface is cut stone in patterns. Just down the road 3 minutes walk is a 500 year old church and the place we live is probably about 100 years.

So, yes, we live there, but it is a nice part of town to live in. Also, the street doesn't end, I just stood in the middle and pointed a direction. There is a river that loops around us and is just past the buildings to the right about 30 seconds walking, to our left about 3 minutes walking and forward about 7 minutes walking. The river is all grassy banked and open to all- no houses block access (in fact, it is illegal to block access to nature in sweden). And, many, many ducks. They are cute in spring. They don't fear people and they walk with their babies down the middle of the street (no car traffic on it!). :D
This is the view just across the street.
Image
Also, behind on one side is a school and a park on the other side (the side with the loges walk to the river. And to the north half a kilometer is a forrest area and then the ocean. So, much nature around, you just don't see it on the street picture!

To which I would reply that they have likely done so through suffering. :D

I second that. And I was wondering the other day, what, if any, effect that has on the biodiversity of the environment there.
Or do I just need to build more character!?
