Hey, I only just noticed the similarity to the "Faster would be better" line in Serenity.

I was aware of that it was an improv from Fillon, it was more the similarity that struck me. Joss Whedon wrote in a few nods to other sci-fi works though, most notably the Blake's 7 line from The Train Job.
