Gratitude Hashi. Casting punctiliousness aside, I reckon 18 ml will be close enough even for my discerning palate ;)

Agreed. 0.143 mL is a very small amount, just a little less than 3 "standard" drops of water. Incidentally, one metric drop is 0.05 mL and is a standard measurement but not for truly scientific purposes or experiments.

In other parlance, a "one drop" is a cantrip in Magic the Gathering and refers to a card that has a converted mana cost of 1. Examples include {r} for Monastery Swiftspear or {g} for Hardened Scales.

....and a drip? The terms are not exactly interchangable ....or are they :? You can have a drip drop, but can you have a drop drip? ;). Unfortunately I had somewhat more than a drop last night and as a direct consequense ask todays random question [surely worthy of a thread in it's own right] which is.......

........Does anyone know a good hangover cure!

According to WolframAlpha a dash is 0.6161 mL...or 1/8 teaspoon...or 2 pinches...or about the same as a regular M&M.

A drip isn't a measurement, unfortunately, only a noun or a verb.

"Dash", though, is a mechanic in Magic the Gathering--if you summon a creature for its dash cost it gains haste (which means it can attack on the turn it was summoned or use any ability with the "tap" symbol in its cost) then at the end of the turn it if is still on the battlefield it returns to your hand. Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury can be dashed and attack as a 5/5 dragon every turn or Mardu Strike Leader can be dashed, attack, then leave a 2/1 black warrior creature token on the battlefield in its wake.

The best hangover cure is probably an aspirin (if you can have those) and water to help your liver and brain recover from the slight poisoning they received (technically ethanol is a poison--drink enough of it and it will kill you).

Was 'The Watch' offline yesterday for a while? Neither of my devices could get a response from the site from 3-6pm UK time, at which point I gave up and moped about the house looking lost and bewildered.

Yes, there was an outage Wednesday morning Seattle time which would correspond to UK afternoon. Not sure what happened, but we are back...and that is what really matters.

So, just to bring us back to semi-random questions, What Happened To The Watch??

Can you include your connect-four post as one of your posts ( thereby rendering this post actually.....

That's the way I do it, peter. I don't know if it's actually against the spirit of the thread, but it's within the technical definition of it, so that's good enough for me. The only trouble is if you get gazzumped by some other poster just as you're doing it, then you have to go and delete your post in the 'Connect Four' thread since you haven't actually connected four and so are in breach of both the spirit and the technical definition of the thread's purpose. If you leave your post stand there may be a danger that the Mods will give you a warning. You may be able to claim that you actually did connect four but that somebody subsequently posted in one of the threads (there's probably no easy way to prove it one way or the other), however, at that stage you should probably engage a lawyer as things can quickly degenerate from there.

See Section 3, Para. 2.1003 of the Watch's posting rules.

I blame MsMary!

That's evil!

What'd be even more evil would be to time it so that you did it just as they trying to make four by posting in the 'Connect Four' thread, then they'd have to delete their post, heh!

If you blocked someone's run to connect four would that count as postus interruptus?

Okay, we can stop now!
