Finally watched BvS.

Not a bad movie. I enjoyed the film for the most part while I was viewing it.
Spoiler
Watching actors battle a blue screen/cgi villain in a climax always annoys me no matter how much I like the film. Iron Man 1, Incredible Hulk, Amazing Spider-man 1 etc. Doomsday is rendered well but still painfully cgi.
The central conflict of the two protagonists ending in such a laughably abrupt manner almost made me turn off the film but I soldiered on.

At the end of the day I agree with both the fans and the critics. There is entertainment to be had but only on a fairly unsophisticated level. Films like BvS, Transformers and other spectacle over substance movies aren't supposed to be Oscar caliber productions. TDK and perhaps Cap 2 are really the only superhero films that comes to mind that seemed to aspire to greater dramatic and critical heights than most comic book adaptation films. But there's nothing wrong with either approach if your only real goal is to entertain and in your own way.
Spoiler
Why does Batman bother with the Iron Man armor? It never really plays any significant part in his battle with Superman. He got the crap beaten out of him anyway and Batman could have gassed Superman with kryptonite using his usual costume. Its such a clumsy ploy by the film makers and I find it painfully distracting right down to the lighted eye slits.

I understand why Superman would fall for the Kryptonite gag once but unlike previous incarnations of Superman this one is an idiot by comparison. Superman's flawless memory and alien intelligence should have given him enough common sense not to fall for any trick twice.

Why would Superman beat the crap out of a helpless human (Batman). He goes far out of his way to beat Batman down and throw him through walls when Batman (without Kryptonite) isn't a physical threat of any kind. This is an example of why I dislike Zack Snyder's take on the subject matter. BvS wasn't supposed to be insulting.
