It would fly more condignly if you stuck around to share it with us. :D

.... "condignly" ...

I can only assume your voluminous book reading is where you got this little gem ..

Maybe Leper Fairy knows its meaning but for the more vocabulary challenged??? <speaking personally of course>

late Middle English (in the general sense 'worthy, appropriate'): from Old French condigne, from Latin condignus, from con- 'altogether' + dignus 'worthy'.

I've steadfastly held that "Condign" ought to be the name Sarge chooses for his business if his employer ever outsources the prison kitchen where he works.

It would be altogether worthy and appropriate (satisfying the criteria from Av's post), don't you. think?

edit to avoid double post: I am moving to the next category in the poll tonight

The profile picture is about ten years old, but if you drill into the photo galleries, the pictures of Dam-sel, Menolly and me are more current...if occasionally silly.

I stopped implicitly trusting the web in about 1994. Prior to that, it was a combination of researchers/scientists/engineers/geeks to whom it would never occur to say anything but the Truth. One might withhold stuff we were not at liberty to say (and some ribbald fora might be devoted to what are now considered NSFW fantasy scenarios), but Lies, Exaggerations and Fish Stories were not even a consideration.

That web did not survive becoming publicly accessible. It's a darn shame I didn't accept NASA's sponsorship to get a doctorate in Social Impacts of Computing Technology. That dissertation would have been verrry interrrrrresting.

OTOH, I surely would not have ended up where I am now, which is pretty good for me and absolutely essential to a few other people. Everything happens for a reason, nu?

Fascinating stories .. do elaborate .. where have you ended up .. and I guess its Damsel, Menolly and your son that benefits 🤷‍♀️ Do you and Damsel have other children 🤷‍♀️ .

Dam-et is our only. He's now about six weeks past graduating with his Bachelors and is looking for work that will support him.

You've accurately enumerated my herd. We still discuss finding a way to bring Menolly's (same age as Dam-et) son, Beorn, out here and improving his circumstances, but that will require either a different (bigger) house or an extensive renovation.

We haven't figured out how to make that stretch yet, and since I pulled the ripcord and retired last December, Beorn's situation is just one of a variety of changes being figured out.

That's probably all I should say in an open post. Feel free to PM me with other questions.
