I've recently moved to a new state, a warm southern one, and I have discovered a joy I had never experienced before.
Last night, I could not sleep, so I put on my robe and slippers and went out onto the back porch with my copy of Lord Foul's Bane (reading the series again

), and lounged on the chaise.
The beauty was so....so.....well I will try to explain it, but I will probably do a terrible job.
First, the temperature was just right, a little warm with a gentle breeze that sounded like breath in your ear. The stars were so bright, and I could even see Venus. A sweet wafting perfume of some flower was on the gentle breeze. I could hear cows lowing, chickens cackling, and even sheep baaaaaaaing. Every once and a while a dog would bark, and I watched the neighbors cats use our yard as a passthrough.
With all this going on, you would think it was a loud ruckus, but it was so peaceful, soft and gentle and, well, wonderful!
I knew that just then, I had captured a moment of pure bliss, and I tried to hold onto it as long as I could, but, the next thing I knew, I found myself awakening (refreshed, even!

)on the chaise a few hours later, with Lord Foul's Bane on the floor of the porch.
