I agree with HLT - the Doom was not a ceasure. The fact that it was formed from yellow gold is the give-away.

As I recall we actually know very little about the Doom and how Kasreyn came by it.

What we do know is that it was created with pure gold by Kasreyn, and because of that had to have the flaw of releasing a Sandgorgon when it's name is spoken. White Gold is the only thing that can create caesures, and Kasreyn had none.
