Welcome Bahgoon and Angus Thermo-pile .. be welcome among us .. welcome and true ..

and by the way Angus .. is that your fav character from the Gap??

Its great to have more fellow SRD fans among us .. this place has been established for the likes of us .. Here we heap praise on the Creator of all thats good .. SRD  .. unless you are reading a Gavrielle Perry critique of 'The man who..' series .. and even in that there is enjoyment to be had .. Even SRD himself possesses a keen sense of humour  .. and would imo .. get a chuckle at some of her criticisms ..

ok it seems I have lost the plot .. the point was simply to add my welcome to you both ..

cya on the block ..

Thank you all very much for the warm welcome.

Ya, Angus is definately my favorite Donaldson character in any series. It always seems like SRD tries to get you to dislike the main character in the first book of a series...but I just wind up likin' 'em anyways! :o Anyways, thanks guys.

The forum seems to require that you check the box next to "log me in automatically..." or else you don't really get logged in, even though it seems that you did. Why is that?

And welcome to all newcomers. :D

Hello everyone. I found this site because of a mention over at Danlo's Board. Seems a good bunch of people.

Hi, I'm Nerdanel and Donaldson is my second-favorite author ever. I'm the same person as Nerdanel on TORC's (www.tolkienonline.com) messageboard.

*HI EVERYONE!!* :D

I haven't been here in ages...my computer died and I lost all my bookmarks, and I couldn't figure out how to get back here until MsMary showed me how I could get here from Ahira's Hangar...so I'm back now! :)

So glad to you back, Foamy! Sorry to hear about your computer. Are you using a new one now, or did you get the old one fixed?

Hello everybody. This is a thank you to all who are involved with this forum. Since I logged on the first time, I have not once had any jerks come out with a 'poison pen' note about my views. Instead I have received acceptance as a peer. I have been involved with a couple of small debates over one topic or another, all of which have helped me to see things from different perspectives, all of which make as much sense as mine. As we are all fans of the same writings, and none of us is SRD, there are many varied and diverse opinions on this topic. And it is truly a joy to share in them. :D Again, thanks much and am looking forward to many more soul searching discussions about everybodies favorite leper!

Your presence honours us Tohrm!

We are gladdened to have you among us

.. Your views are very much appreciated and highly valued .. and I have observed .. that if not for your constant presence over the past few weeks we would not have the highly stimulating and enjoyable discussions and debates we have had of late!!

We try .. I believe .. to welcome all views whether they agree with our own or not .. at times some will disagree and mayhap not so delicately .. as is the norm in any large group .. but none will abuse or ridicule anothers views .. and none will intend any true offence to another .. at least that has been my personal experience at the Watch .. If you ever experience the contrary .. you can use the pm tool to clarify the matter.

To generate discussions of interest we need members like yourself and those we have here .. who are like-minded in our love of TCTC and SRD's other works.

None of us really know the mind of SRD .. all our supposed substance is nothing much more than pure speculation

.. and only occassionally supported directly by the mind of the author .. in declarations by SRD himself of his pov in interviews or his own forwards ..

.. and even then .. we use such quotes of the master .. not entirely in the context he intended.

I see this community as mirroring as best as we can .. the society present in the Land prior to the sunbane! A place where we respect each pov and express ourselves accordingly .. a place where all are welcome.

Foamy!!! .. it is great to have you back .. I have seen you at the Hangar and wondered when you would be back?

Tis a cause for great rejoicing!!!

Bannor: MsMary and I are mostly going on using my dad's laptop lately, when he lets us...Not a perfect solution, but it works.

Sky: :D

Unfortunately, I'm going to be away most of the summer, so I may not be around much after all...I'm going to New York on Tuesday, coming back next week, three days before I leave again for EnderCon. Then after EnderCon, I have a week till I leave for England for a month...and the only place I'll have access to the Internet in England will probably be an Internet cafe or something, where you have to pay by the minute. Maybe I'll just send hellos through MsMary... :)

Hello everyone. I just discovered this site recently. I have been a big fan of SRD since reading LFB about ten years ago. I have just recently finished both Chronicles and rediscovered why I liked them so much. I have read many of the posts on this discussion board, and look forward to reading more. I will post occasionally as this is one of my favorite subjects. My son Thomas (named after his maternal grandfather not TC) has also read the books and enjoys talking about them. Up until now we only had each other to have discussions.

Sivit

Welcome!

I have close ties to NM. Born in Albuquerque, Own about 5 acres just south of Belen, near the Manzano Mountains will probably retire there.

Sivit

PS not to mention my favorite author lives in the vicinity. And yes I can see how much of NM could inspire TWL.

Let's see

Roswell = desert sun
Santa Fe = Andelain ??

Taos in winter = Northron Climbs

Anywhere in NM in a thunderstorm = Sun of rain

I will not interfere.
