What is your world-view (quiz)?

It looks as though the top four go hand in hand, Murrin got high scores in all of those as well. Perhaps I share coincidental beliefs with mainline to liberal christian protestants on most things but not concerning a deity.

Very possibly. But one belief common to Christians of any stripe, is that of Theism; i.e. it's a given that all Christians believe in God.Murrin wrote: I assume that since it says 'liberal' christians, it will be related to the abortion, homosexuality, etc questions.
To my mind, that creates quite a tension between Christianity and Nontheism.
Believing in both Theism and Nontheism concurrently, is an achievement worthy of the White Queen.

Well, of course.
This is why polls based on closest match answers, without some answers taking precedence over others, are flawed.
Of course, you could say that you are only supposed to consider the highest result as your match, and that because the others match less they are to be ignored (because of things like these contradictory belief systems both scoring high).
[Hmm, my posts seem to be a little rambling and confused today. Tried to post in the Think Tank just before but in the end couldn't even work out what I was trying to say.]

I agree, Murrin. I should have expanded on what I meant when I said the Belief-O-Matic was more fun: it asked more questions (and perhaps more emotionally involving ones), and that just made the experience of doing that test more engaging. It seemed to me the questions in the world-view test were posed in a more impersonal manner, and so I responded in likewise fashion: with interest, but without much emotional involvement. And a few of the questions seemed more cryptic than was necessary, like the one asking if life was a "self-alienation" of the divine. Explain, Mr. Spock!:)Murrin wrote: But I don't feel that one test is superior - the Belief-o-matic tells you your religion, but the world-view test classifies the way you perceive the universe (as in, how you think it all works).
Ultimately, I do agree with the results--of both tests. Existentialist? Yeah, sounds like me. Secular humanist? No argument there.

You scored as Cultural Creative.
Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

I actually tied as Existentialist/Materialist. (88 on both.)You scored as Materialist. Materialism stresses the essence of fundamental particles. Everything that exists is purely physical matter and there is no special force that holds life together. You believe that anything can be explained by breaking it up into its pieces. i.e. the big picture can be understood by its smaller elements.

You scored as Idealist.
Idealism centers around the belief that we are moving towards something greater. An odd mix of evolutionist and spiritualist, you see the divine within ourselves, waiting to emerge over time. Many religious traditions express how the divine spirit lost its identity, thus creating our world of turmoil, but in time it will find itself and all things will again become one.
