Spare me the violin music: I don't feel all that sorry for Whitney Houston. She and Bobby Brown deserve each other, as far as I'm concerned.

And I cannot believe Billy Joel's You're Only Human (Second Wind) didn't make the list. I thought I couldn't come up with a song that annoyed me more than Don't Worry Be Happy, but I just did. :fim:

ZZ Top. i like Texas bands, I like blues. what i don't like is most of the crap that they put forth. La Grange being the exception that proves the rule.

Matrixman points out that it did in fact make the list.
I have a love hate relationship with that song.
I love the music but when I listen to the words I want to shoot myself.

Much like a similar problem I have with King Missile's "Detatchable Penis" song.
I like it but I think 99.9% of the rest of the world would kick my ass if I said so.

You had this coming Mr.
Now you're going get it!
Right between the eyes:

************************

We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again
It's the final countdown...
The final countdown
Ooh oh

We're heading for Venus (Venus)
And still we stand tall
Cause maybe they've seen us
And welcome us all (yeah)
With so many light years to go
And things to be found (to be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so
It's the final countdown...
The final countdown
The final countdown (the final countdown)
Ooh ooh oh

(interlude)

The final countdown
Ooh oh
I'ts the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown (the final countdown)
Ooh
It's the final countdown
We are leaving together
The final countdown

Hey, King Missile rocks. Like Nerf Herder.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

HLT you bastard! Now I've got that stupid keyboard riff stuck in my head!

King Missile was awesome.

I haven't read any of this thread, but if Run, Joey, Run and Billy, Don't be a Hero are not on the list, then it is worthless.

Billy, Don't Be A Hero....I agree 100% on that one. Run, Joey, Run......fortunately, I seem to have forgotten that one!

He's recorded some very uninspiring songs, but also some classics. Not a huge Thriller fan (though it's ok) but Smooth Criminal and Billie Jean remain brilliant pop songs.
