Dirty Dancing:
IMDB rating - 5.9

Prayer of the Rollerboys
IMDB rating - 4.5
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Streets of Fire - yeah, the story is predictable and the acting not so great (Michael Pare was much better in Eddie and the Cruisers.) But I still love SoF, especialy the opening song.

I second Big Trouble in Little China. Great flick.

The Big Hit. Cheesy movie with Mark Wahlberg, but Avery Brooks is in it. :D

Big Trouble In Little China is one of my favorite films.
Another guilty pleasure of mine is Lake Placid. Just something about the dialog etc.

I bought Heaven's Prisoners just so I can see Teri Hatcher naked. How's that for a guilty pleasure!

That's a great movie Fist, even Baldwin is good in it--I love trillers set in and around New Orleans, Angel Heart, The Big Easy, HP, etc...even Double Jeopardy...

GREAT film. i am a dave robicheaux fan in a major way and never figured an actor like Baldwin for pullin him off. complex character in epic tragedy. i have a Robicheaux's Dock and Bait Shop hat from New Iberia, LA. Baldwin was great and the two actresses were cast contrary to their usual types and it worked really well. mary stuart masterson is always good. always. Hatcher plays Roberts' wife, right? she was pretty good too. like Kelly Lynch as the good girl.

but quintessential james lee burke is Baldwin's monologue that opens the film. brilliant.

i guess you can tell i don't feel in the LEAST guilty for liking THIS film!!

Edit: i have to add a guilty pleasure...Pushing Tin. yes...Cusack. yesss...Angelina. yessss yesss Billy Bob. heh.

Eric Roberts was pretty darn good in HP--(Zydeco and Jambalaya, Et Teaux!) he makes a lot of films but only 1 out of 10 is definably good. HP was probably his best performance since The Pope of Greenwich Village, but of course my man Mickey Rourke stole the show!!!! 8)
