My enthusiasm to be a moderator for the Fatal Revenant forum is something that probably only Lore and Jay will "get". But, hey, if there's more suitable people I'm not going to get upset.

All is cool!
Hey, there was no heated discussion. I was just saying I knew little of you. Trust me, if Loremaster vouches for you, then I have every faith you'd be able to do the job. Loremaster is an intelligent man - and we've known each other for a long time - I have every trust in his opinion. :) - later, rev.

Thanks, Revan! :)

I personally prefer merging it with Runes, but I voted "ARC", because I wanted to see how it felt to be in the majority. Frankly, it wasn't the rush I expected it to be. Jay, please change my vote to "Ban Jay".

But surely the majority counts for nothing... at least by me. :P

I think you're confused on the 'majority' thing as a whole, Rev.

I think that the majority would agree with you...

He's right though. Here it doesn't. But for the grace of Jay anyway. :D He can open the FR forum any damn time he wants.

I agree!!

Only problem is that you're going to have people who have read Runes, but not FR, who will then inevitably encounter spoilers if you merge the two.

I agree. When you think that the last book in the second chronicles was published in the early 80's but these are being published every 3-ish years...well, I think that the Runes forum should remain separate from the Fatal Revenant forum.

Agreed. i don't think we can combine them just yet.

We could wait till the series is done and then merge the books, but another thing to consider is the first 2 chronicles were done years after the books were published, so there wasn't any of the 'anticipatory' talk that these four books will be getting, so if we do end up merging, this one will be a much bigger forum.

Even once it's done, you're still going to get people who have read only one or two, who won't be able to go in there for fear of spoilers.

I didn't read Runes until 6 months after it was released, so I scrupulously avoided the Runes forum.

It's been mentioned before that despite the fact that they'd all been long-since published, it was a pity that nobody thought to keep the rest of the chrons seperate here at the start.

A forum per book still strikes me as the best solution in terms of allowing people to go only as far as they've read, and no further.

Why stop there? What if someone is on chapter 12 of a given book, wants to comment about what he's read so far, but can't because he has to run the risk of seeing a chapter 13 spoiler? Give me a break guys, SRD isn't some hack writer being read by a bunch of idiots....whiners, yes; idiots, no.

(I read a lot of SRD. And I am an idiot. Everyone tells me so.)

Agreed. Though I think the time that would be put in for such a transformation would be too large to try it.
