I have the 3-D man ad Moonstone issues, and probably the Soviet Super Soldiers issue too. I thought they were pretty bad, to be honest. Despite my complaints, the art and writing in the current Hulk comics are far better than the cookie-cutter stories and bland art of the post-Roy Thomas/Herb Trimpe era Hulk. But, I don't think the current stuff is as good as when Peter David was writing it.

Peter David was very good.

it seems that Marvel has no idea what to do with their mainstay books. in the FF we have yet another member die. Reed and Ben have already done that.

Captain America died. he got better.

I missed Shadowlands so I have no idea what has happened to Daredevil.

I liked the X-Men team they built with Mimic, Cloak, Dagger, Namor etc... then they did nothing with them.

Thunderbolts was great with Ghost, Antman, Paladin, etc. then they dumped that for a lesser grouping.

that is why I am sticking to the miniseries for now.

From what I've heard, the Black Panther killed DD. Of course, the last I heard, Black Panther was dead.

Gotta love comics.

it seems that Black Panther - a king of a foreign country and married man, has taken up the Daredevil identity.

do they even plot these books anymore?

It could be worse--you could have gotten out of comics over 15 years ago like I did. Nothing--absolutely nothing--is as I remember it. I don't know which characters have been killed and/or resurrected (or how many times), which new characters exist, what story lines have totally changed, etc.

In short, I am from an alternate reality with a different history than this one. *shrug* I don't even try to keep up with the current events.

What I will note, though, is that instead of trying to come up with new heroes and themes for the younger generations the comic book publishers seem content to rebrand and redesign the characters that have been around for decades. I think most younger readers want only anime or anime-type characters. I wouldn't be surprised to see a furry superhero at some point. ("furry" as in the subculture, not furry as in "covered with fur"--that's been done before).

well most everyone has died and come back - hope that helps. :)

comic sales are driven by males in the 30's-40's i believe. so that is why everything gets repackaged.

the fans may say they want things done differently. but the majority reject anything different.

Beast, Tigra, Sasquatch, Nightcrawler, Werewolf By Night, Hepzibah, Wolfsbane, Gibbon........and that's just the Marvel ones.

I love taking quotes out of context!

Tigra's a lot more...full-figured...than I recall from her West Coast Avengers days.

What's wrong with having more Hulks? That's certainly better than having more puny humans!

Because I've read it, and was underwhelmed.

I kinda like the "I just wanna live, but puny humans won't let me" Hulk.
