He's well able to use youtube and email, he just has zero idea of the actual physical reality of it. And when someting goes wrong or doesn't work first time he is utterly stumped.

Yup, that's what I did with the thread(s) from Seafest Denver in order to preserve them in the scrapbook I did. The real-time posts from that event were almost funnier than the actual goings-on.wayfriend wrote:This has the benefit of printing the text you want, without all the forum graphics and background colors, and other posts on the same page. And you can save it onto your computer as well.ussusimiel wrote:YThe other option, of course, is just to copy and paste the relevant posts and stick them in a word document.
I remember that old site. And there was a guest book, wasn't there? I believe I posted on it, as did my daughter (IIRC).kevinswatch wrote:Avatar wrote:It's Jay guys, sheesh.![]()

Quick Facts:
-Yes, I own kevinswatch.com.
-Yes, it used to be a more content-filled fan site.
-I took it down, mainly out of embarrassment. Most of the content on there was tripe and/or out of date.
-I still have it on a drive somewhere, but have no interest in bringing it back.
-Since the message board was the most active part, it made sense to just link kevinswatch.com to the message board.
-Speaking of which, Vain owns the message board and the server it's on.
-Probably the only cool content-related thing that I had on the old site was a gallery of all of the covers in the Chronicles. I think I had pretty much all of them.

I know jack about computers Murrin - the limit of what I can do is get onto the internet and trawl...er... surf about a bit. I don't even know how to 'select the text' or 'go to the document', but I'll wing it anyway. Many thanks for the instructions.I'm Murrin wrote:I don't quite believe that I am about to write this. I mean, it's one of the most basic, fundamental functions of word processors that I would have assumed every person who has even touched a computer knows how to do. Nevertheless...
1) Select the text
2) Either:
--a) Right click, click "copy"; or
--b) Press Ctrl+C
3) Go to the document where you want to put the text.
4) Either:
--a) Right click, click "paste"; or
--b) Press Ctrl+V
Et voila.
I know many that can't do it. My father, for one. I just helped him with an attachment in email. Cut and paste is the next thing. He panics and becomes overwhelmed at the thought of cut and paste. Many people that didn't grow up with computers or never owned one (my foster kids) have no idea how to do the fundamentals. And then there are people who are just not interested in learning the fundamentals.I'm Murrin wrote:I don't quite believe that I am about to write this. That's an excellent idea.I'm Murrin wrote: Can Av maybe change those to use his full name? I don't mean the Gen SRD forum (that's too long already), but the category title and the descriptions.
