I'm Murrin wrote:Peter, once you use "copy", the content is stored ready to paste anywhere. You can then go to any place where you can type text, and use "paste" (from a top menu, right click menu, or just pressing Ctrl+V) and it will work.

It won't work if you right click or press the buttons anywhere that isn't a text input place (like notepad, or word, or new post entry box on a forum, etc).
Did you mean above that it won't work if you put the curser for the starting place for the text to be pasted into notepad, word or new post entry box on a forum? I used my usual Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V and pasted from word straight into the above box on the forum.

Edit: I see what you mean, you mean the right click won't work, but the Ctrl+V does work.

Those are examples of text input places - i.e. where it will work.

He means you can only paste in places where you would be able to type. Just right-clicking on the page with the post on is not going to let you paste. :D (Which is what I gather Peter tried. :D )

Yes, I see. I thought he meant the opposite. :)

Much easier to use key strokes than the mouse though, especially with a laptop. I hate those pads for moving the curser.

You got it Av. And may I say 'Job done!'

Murrin had it that I was trying to paste from the text page itself so [of course - duh] the macine had no idea where I was trying to move the script to. Once I copied on the Watch page and then went to my open notepad page, the 'paste' option was up and running. {Little bit of a hiccup when I got the text all justified on the right hand margin briefly but I sorted this out fairly quickly. One thing - I found Av's method of highlighting the actual text manually rather than using 'select all' seemed to work best. For some reason when I selected all, it didn't seem to do the same thing but hey! - I got the cut and paste tecnique down or what! :D

We seem to have LOST a post from August. We were at 4002, now it's 4001. Maybe we have a leak? I'll get the duct tape, someone go start a Mallory's thread speculating what happened to the missing post.

I hope you're sentenced to write 500 posts to make up for it.

Intarwebz 102.

Although I'm hearing rumblings (maybe it was here?) that websites and stuff are starting to use Chrome for optimization purposes. I'm starting to see some glitchiness on Firefox when I use it at home -- although it's not anywhere near as bad as with Exploder. (Once again, our Exploder version here at work is past its sell-by date. Gmail keeps suggesting that I download Chrome. )

Yes - I'm getting this all the time Ali, but I keep putting it off because every time I try to do something like that it seems to cause more problems than it cures.....or it just plain fails to install!

People complained that Firefox was getting big and memory hungry and started switching to Chrome. Then Chrome started to go the same way, and there's probably little difference between them now.

Chrome is way worse. And FF's memory issues are much improved. Lemme see...

I got 15 tabs open in FF now, and it's using 350kb.

Got 9 open in Chrome, and it's using about 440. Also (what I hate) is every fecking tab is a separate process.

(When was the last time you updated it Ali? ;) )

What, Firefox? I dunno. It updates itself in the background...hang on... Sez here it's 32.0.3. Claims that's the latest version.

As for Exploder, I'll have to check when I get to work tomorrow. Guaranteed it'll make you laugh.

Yeah, that's current...mine almost never glitches. It's my primary browser at home and at work. (I use Chrome and Opera at work too, because I usually have to be logged into multiple accounts.)
