What fantasy/science fiction book are you reading RIGHT NOW?

Blindness by Jose Saramago.

I liked the movie. The book is written in the style of paragraphs that are pages long, run-on sentences, no quotations; not a style I normally enjoy but so far it's working.

Lucky you cant find Night of Knives in any of my local book stores ,but there was plenty of copies of Stonewielder and Eriksons Toll of the hounds so I,m, kinda of stuck and bookless for the last 2 weeks

I'm 50 pages into Gardens of the Moon. I got tired of the incessant Watch nagging about this series

and decided to give it a go. All I can say is, nag away any time you bitches want

So far, so VERY good. And the great thing about always being late to the party, I got another 14 waiting for me!

Thanks Avatar , the only games I play are on facebook and the Evony game keeps me busy while I suffer from Book withdrawal

I'm reading The Sacred Band by David Anthony Durham. I just read Vortex by Robert Charles Wilson. It was excellent.

So I broke down and got a Kindle today.

I'm still in the 'justifying it' stage of Kindle ownership. I did have the Kindle for PC app on my laptop, so I had a few books ready to go - mostly the Star Trek SCE series that was only available digitally. So I'm rereading those and some GRRM, which was a big part of the 'justifying it' since I lost all of those when I moved and really didn't want to replace the physical tomes. I've got a lot of catching up to do and a fair amount of stuff to eventually replace, but that's going to have to happen slowly, since e-books are not cheap.

And I've wandered off topic, so I'm rereading ASoIaF.

Finished MOI, halfway through Deadhouse Gates. Got House of Chains and Midnight Tides from the library. I give it two weeks before I'm looking for the next one. I'm addicted.

Also got Coalescent by Stephen Baxter, which I'll read if I finish the Malazan books in time. Anyone read this? I enjoyed his collaboration with Arthur C Clarke, and this Destiny's Children series is supposed to be some of his best work.

Finished Blindness. It is an amazing book, both brutal and transcendantly beautiful. I plan to read more Jose Saramago. (Incidentally, probably the closest movie-from-book adaptation I've ever seen in terms of plot, but the book was of course so much more in depth.)
