Yeah, when I was younger I used to get them so bad that I was literally crippled. Three days in a dark room type of thing. Thank gods I grew outta them or something...haven't suffered one in many years, for which I'm profoundly grateful.

Congrats, Jenn! :D

And sorry to hear about the migraines, Ki. Like dAN said, what works for one person often doesn't work for another. I've tried several prevention medications with varied success. One that did help a little for me was Topamax (started out as a anti-seizure med, but now is approved for migraines). I take Zomig when I get bad migraines, but it's kinda expensive even with my insurance (I would get 3 pills for $20). Anyhow, when it's bad enough I take it because it works so well. Migraines suck.

Wow, I come back from vacation to see that Luci has lost her father (my extreme condolences, by the way), and that Jenn has been made a mod. And I thought the economy was bad...

I feel exhausted. I stayed up until 4 working on homework (that I didn't quite finish) for today's classes, only to find out that the assignments were actually due next week. I could have slept and done the homework this weekend. :(

I just talked to Lucimay on the phone and she is doing well all things considered. She's had tough moments and good moments and is actually having dinner with Kigirl and Malik tonight. She also thinks she is going to be able to piggyback onto the neighbor's internet and post for herself tonight. Thought y'all might wanna know since my inbox has been bombarded with pms from enquiring minds.

Woo-hoo!!!

Last year, we had applied for Beorn to have accommodations for College Board standardized testing, i.e., PSAT, SAT, APs, etc. He was awarded 50% extra time, but was denied use of a computer for the essay portion, which was our biggest concern as his IEP allows him the use of an alpha-smart for all handwritten work. So, the past year has been spent compiling documentation regarding his disabilities and disorders, and presenting a case in appeal to the College Board.

I just read their determination letter...
The following explains the College Board decision regarding your requested accommodations:

"The documents that you provided do not support your need for 100% extended time.
However, you are eligible to receive 50% extended time for the entire test, the use of a computer, small group testing, extra breaks between test sections, and school based testing.
Never say die!!!

...now to hope ACT comes to the same conclusions...
