Jenn, I am feeling much vicarious vindication, having no love lost for used car salesmen. Met and dealt with more of them in my life than I ever wanted to.

bad day. I have had enough. In the past month the city has cancelled my health insurance 3 times. No reason to cancel, just cancelled. It is a fiasco to get it reinstated each time. City workers are very very very bad quality. The first time I call my personnel office and they say there is nothing wrong on their part, that I have to call the health benefits main office. I call them they say it is not them that I have to call my personnel office because they were notified I was terminated on 8/23. I call personnel they say they did no such thing and on and on and on. I call the help line they direct me to the benefits office. Took 2 weeks and I was reinstated the second time. Last night I get a letter I have been terminated on 1/17.
I am not terminated, I am on workmans comp and still drawing a salary. The thing about this system is that my insurance is covered by 4 different programs, one for eyes, one for dentist, one for medical and one for hospital so each cancelation requires four battles.
So here we go again.

So here we go again.

Sorry, lorin, but I feel like playing that trope, "You get optical?..." (seeing as my vision is getting so much worse lately)
Seriously. Stag and I were talking about that this morning. Poor communication, lack of boundaries/ objectives, zero relationship; let that steep for a few months and you get crash-and-burn (which we saw coming months ago and are watching happen even now). And yet the person who brought all this to pass has been sent upline in the hierarchy, a position being created for him. It staggers belief. They haven't finished, either. And there isn't a thing we can do about it.
We keep vacillating between fury at the whole snafu, and going "What the heck!!" and actually laughing about it. There is kind of a freedom in having absolutely no control over something. If it all crashes down around our heads, we'll still have a life.

Why is it that the incompetent ones get the promotions!!!!!Sorus wrote:Competence is in short supply these days.

Yeah, 1 pair of glasses per year for staring at computer 12 hours a day. I also get 2 grand a year to repair all the teeth I've ground down from tension and all the blood pressure medicine I need to cope with the fall-out from the stress. Some of the many benefits of prostituting myself for 20 years.deer of the dawn wrote:Sorry, lorin, but I feel like playing that trope, "You get optical?..." Lawn Guyland? Some of the nicest people I know are from there.lorin wrote:lon' gisland (don't hold it against me)

Sorry for the stress-related conditions. Ugh!! You know, if they just gave you some support and made it less stressful for you, think of what the City would save in health insurance bills.

I have not made many friends here. It just seems like there are two kinds of women, the ones that are cruising the malls to find the best spray tan and longest acrylic tips or those on the gramma' track. Maybe I'm just not giving them a chance.
They need to stress us. That is the only way they think they are getting their monies worth.Sorry for the stress-related conditions. Ugh!! You know, if they just gave you some support and made it less stressful for you, think of what the City would save in health insurance bills.

Ive been better. My Grandson 'August Orion' passed away yesterday. He was only 3 months old. Just too sick to keep fighting. It was incredible how fast things turned from him doing just fine and improving, to this.
So proud of my Daughter and her BF. There came a time when they told the Dr's and nurses to just stop....it was the right decision but the most brave.

I'm sorry for your loss SB. Sending big hugs.
It's 1 degree outside with a wind chill of -17. Ugh, just ugh.

They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
