Welcome to The Watch.
Gargoyles was a great cartoon. I had this 12" doll of Demona once that I won out of those grabby machines. My niece borrowed it and it has been a bath toy for her ever since. The love affair between Goliath and that cop chick was one very interesting plot for a cartoon.

Just thought I'd drop a line to say hello, I heard about this forum from the LOTR site, I must say I'm pretty excited about the 3rd series and am looking forward to it!
Hope to see all over the years ahead!

Mmm... Demona... It scares me that they could make an evil, blue-skinned gargoyle so attractive...
Gargoyles is on Toon Disney, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from... 3:30pm to 4:30pm. And also I think from 11pm-12am. Though the Saturday at 11pm conflicts with Doctor Who in my corner of the world.
Almost all of my favorite shows are no longer making new episodes... Except for a couple on the WB.
But any 'kiddie' show that comes up with dialogue like this can't be entirely a kiddie show....
"The Sword and the Staff. A book of Merlin. Frontispiece: The written word is all that stands between memory and oblivion. Without books as our anchors we are cast adrift neither teaching nor learning. They are windows on the past, mirrors on the present, and prisms reflecting all possible futures. Books are lighthouses erected on the dark sea of time."
Of course, TCTC doesn't mention much about books, does it? I wonder if Kevin's Wards were books.

They did a lot through songs and stories which seemed to be oral rather than written. I s'pose the oral traditions of some cultures would fit with that.
Urm...Hello

I assume this is the place that I say Hello then...
This place is great. I've been looking for Covenant sites on the net for a while now - I'm in the middle of reading the Second Chronicles at the moment and have just finished the first part of the second book. (The Gift of the Forestal) - so am feeling a little tramuatised. I love this book!
Just thought I'd pop in and say Hi.
I'm looking forward to coming back and possibly joining, but I think it would be a good idea for me to finish the second book before doing so. I don't want to accidently read something I shouldn't....

Welcome, Guest Jenny!
Yeah, we try to use *spoiler alert* but it's not always possible. Many if not most of us have read TCTC more than once and I figure you'll be one of us before long!

Hail Jenny! Do you mean the second book in the First Chrons, or the Second Chrons itself? Be very careful here, this place is full of spoilers

Greetings! I am Lord Simian! This broadcast is now under chimp control! I would like to thank Lord Foul for being such an easy opponent to defeat! I shall now sit proudly upon his throne! Hail, my brothers in ape-dom! Now where are the chimpettes? I'm ready for a night out on the town!

Hail fellows, well met.
I feel like I have been a member for a long time. I know many of you and your names and my life has been full of your ups and downs; your worries and your joys; and your many interesting and innovative discussions about Donaldson and the world in general.
All this because my wife (Skyweir) has been a dedicated Kevin's Watch enthusiast every since she stumbled accross your site after we read Lord Foul's Bane together and she sought out everything she could find about Donalsdon. So you see I am indebted to you all as you have already brought me a gret deal of pleasure without my visiting this new site or posting a message.
I hope to drop in occasionally to check on you all and to scan the discussions. My life seems very full and time at the computer is something of a rareity as I seem to live in a hosehold full of internet addicts but I would like to get to know you all a little. It will be a current change to experience the Watch first-hand again instead of vicariously through Skywier.
I pledge my fealty to the Watch and all its inhabitants in the World and in the Land.
