Finished The Eye of the Pyramid. I have not decided yet if I'll continue with the Golden Apple, or finish a couple other books, or read a different one.

Old Man's War, John Scalzi.
My first book of his, inspired by the book club's recent Red Shirts pick. (This one was available at the library.) Only a chapter in, but good so far.

Finished Heinlein's classic Stranger in a Strange Land over the weekend. I generally am not gone on the sci-fi 'classics' preferring more contemporary novels, but I found this very readable and interesting. The relentless focus on gender and sex was surprising and reads like a precursor to the 'free love' of the hippies. It makes me wonder what concerns run through contemporary sci-fi that will stand out when it later becomes 'classic'?

I know he has Alzheimer's but maybe he wrote more diskworld novels than are on the chart that Frosty sent me, and which I am faithfully following.

He's said his daughter will be taking over the franchise. And there are rumours that he hasn't really been much involved in the last few as it is.

Don't know about that, but it will be a sad day when there are no more from him.

Anyway, I'm reading The Golden Apple.

I would LOVE to read Time Enough for Love again. Great book. But I have so many on my pile, and I read so slow...
