I have had a headache for over three days now (starting on Monday), and today it is worse than the previous three days combined (it's hovering around migraine territory but isn't there yet). And today is my busiest day of classes, none of which I can afford to miss. Ugh.
At least they might have a school for me to work at now (still only tentatively, but it is promising), so I don't have to worry about that any more on top of the headache.

Poor Owlie! Feel better soon -- that's an order! ;) If Magickmaker wasn't on her way to an anime convention today, I'm sure she'd be here commiserating with you, headache-wise.... Thankfully she's having more good days than bad right now. <phew!>

dAN, hang in there. Might be worth talking to a lawyer, if you haven't done that already.

Maybe he just wants a day off, and he knows you'll ride his ass for just taking a day off unless he says he is sick. :P

Of course, you're right. But he should at least play sick!

Besides, he should have gone to work yesterday because they were having bushfire counseling which I think he needs! Anyway....

My situation has been going of for a while now, I don't think it's going to end any time soon. It pretty much has been going on since I started having problems with my marriage, ending in divorce in 2004. Since then I've been kind of focussing on living one day at a time with no long term goals except raising my kids, and keeping the peace with my ex. That took a major blow early last year when I got laid off. I finally got another job after nine months unemployed, but I make a lot less now, and apparently my ex involved the Department of Revenue in regards to child support, who thinks I can afford to pay the same amount I was paying before (I can't). I'm guessing I'll be in this mess for a while now. Right now, it looks like it's going to take the rest of my life to get past this.
I don't have anything helpful to add but some positive thoughts for you. And a hug. |G

Wishing you the best, dAN! Hate the thought of a Watch veteran like you having to go through so much crap in your life.

I went on a (first) date last night with a guy who admitted to running a background check on me. I don't know how I feel about that. Not that I have anything to hide, but still...

Would someone like to tell me how I feel about that?

You feel like you've let yourself down, because you haven't made any porn movies for him to have found on this background check.

Wow.

Now that takes on a whole different perspective when the two people addressing each other were those sitting on either side of one at High Tea...

Thank you, Fist :) Now that I know the problem, I can begin working on the remedy.

I have a friend who does that to check guys she dates.

I guess you can look on it as you passed.

That's a bit creepy man...I mean...ok...maybe he was checking you're not a serial killer...but still, shouldn't you at least wait until after the first date? I'd feel a bit uncomfortable, even if only in a vague-can't-put-my-finger-on-it kinda way...

I'd feel creeped out. Like Av said, for a first date I think it is rather presumptious. And somehow strange. . . like is he hiding something himself? Bah. . .

I think it tells you something about the dude, like he has serious trust issues, or he's dated an axe-murderer in the past......I guess it counts for something that he told you, but yeah, it's a bit creepy.

Agreed. Maybe you should run a background check on him. Maybe he is a serial killer and wants to be caught.

The only background check I ever do on a woman is watch her as she's walking away from me....it's more of a backside check, actually.

Waddley: Like the police run a background check? Or did he just google you to see if you were in facebook and stuff?

Everyone googles people now.

Umm... except me. I never do. Look over there!

Woke up dizzy this morning, and still with a headache, so I had a friend drive me to the clinic. I have a sinus infection. :( 10% chance it could be bacterial, so they gave me antibiotics. If it's viral (90% chance), there's nothing I can do about it except wait it out. Not looking forward to continued headaches, but at least I have an explanation now.

{{{Owlie}}}

I hope it passes and you feel well soon.
At least the weekend's here.
Hopefully you aren't too overloaded with homework this weekend.

Thanks, Menolly. :)
Luckily my homework load isn't too much this weekend, and I didn't really have any plans so I hope to rest and recuperate.
