I definitely agree that it is possible for humans to overcome any genetic predisposition. And in some people, that predisposition is faulty too. I don't think that genes "control" us. But I do think that a couple million years of evolution have ground certain behaviours/patterns so deeply into us that they affect our actions, even our thoughts, on more levels than merely the conscious one.
