I was telling myself in the back of my mind that it wasn't the real TC, and thought that it might be Roger. TC (the Roger version) wasn't talking with the same fluency of the previous stories and that is what made my mind up.
I had no idea how to explain Jerimiah's appearence there though... I completely forgot about Croyels.
All that said, in the back of my mind I wished that it was the real TC (although I was also wishing he was there in his physical state), and I am glad he is back properly now (even with the crap hitting the fan in the last few pages of FR).
Cant wait....

It didn't occur to me it could be Roger, but I was convinced from the beginning it isn't real Covenant. He was just too much of an asshole. I rather suspected it was some simulacrum created by Foul or perhaps Kastenessen. After that Theomach saying "one you call Covenant was big giveaway. Jeremiah was more puzzling to me, since he looked more authenthic and I just didn't thought about croyel.

I thought there was something fishy about Covenant and Jeremiah from the first moment she was running to meet them in Revelstone, but I didn't guess what it was. Still, I was glad that Linden never totally trusted TC aka Roger.

Well, I finally finished FR yesterday, so now I can read this forum
I knew that it wasn't TC when he made such a deal of wanting the ring. I had no idea that it was Roger though... and I certainly didn't think of a croyel on Jeremiah.
Those 4 words "Show me the truth!"... the most powerful 4 words in the series IMO.

I wasnt,at least not all the way through,my wife says she was fooled by him.I knew it,when they first left to to go to the past and meet the old lords.I just finished listening to it for the third time now,via ATT TTS +
Crystal. And I have to admit I am liking this book now immensly.
I like the way Linden is changing.

I knew right away something was wrong with TC - the occassional glint of reddish (?) light in his eyes, the arrogant behavior, all the clues previously mentioned.
Jeremiah was a greater mystery for me. I figured it was him for real the whole time, and did not guess that he was under any sort of influence. I guess I just wanted his mind to be free. But his absolute trust in TC had me confused, because I was certain it was not the real TC. Just having him ride up to Revelstone like that would have been too easy of a mechanism for bringing him back into the story...not SRD's style.
Nevertheless, I was totally surprised by the truth when it was revealed under MS and agree that it was one of the best moments in FR.

The thing that threw me off in suspecting it wasn't him (I was 50/50 it was him distorted or Kastenasten) was his warning to remember I'm dead. Like when Linden found him, be warned he'll act differently then in the dream messages because he is dead.
