The Smashing Pumpkin song I seem to do well on. I got 100 % on medium and did pretty good on the hard ... not sure why ... there are 'simpler' songs that I don't do as well on.

The RATM encore after the duel with Morello isn't too ridiculous on hard. Tricky, but not hard.

yeah cherub rock seems to be a very "kind" song when it comes to rows of notes. I did also try it on hard mode, but I keep fumbling the odd chords. its also "kind" about transitioning between where I have to keep my hand.

EDIT: thanks for the suggestions, bulls on parade was infact easy for a hard song. hell if I hadn't been interupted I would have even completed it on expert.
currently:
vast majority of easy songs 5 stared
great majority of medium songs 5 stared
half of hard mode completed- a few songs 4 stared
1 or 2 songs on expert 3 stared.
the tips of my fingers feel all mushy too. the stickers on my fret keys are also wearing off; red is completely gone.
I'll try it out, but my brain still doesn't like that orange button.

Finally got my Kramer wireless fixed. Well, actually it was replaced by the manufacturer. And they threw in a free keychain for waiting a few weeks and paying for shipping. Whoopty doo.

FINALLY beat the devil on medium ... yah, only medium ... damn hard!
Started in on some HArd stuff...

FRIK! it's hard! that orange key and the speed and odd chords are insane!
I got 78% on slow ride and 85% on that Poison song ... but it took some practicing and a few tries ... man, I am going to suffer on this one...

Hyperception and Beorn have started cooperating in dual player mode, Hyperception playing using the wii-mote only since we havent found a second guitar for the wii yet. They made it through easy level with mostly five-star ratings. The four-stars were as Hyperception adjusted to playing on the wii-mote, and the 91% on Raining Blood.
However, they've failed Barracuda on medium.
But, they are determined to conquer this in dual-player.
They sure would like a second guitar though...

I have since purchased the original Guitar Hero. My progress on all of this is pretty much 5 star on all easy (might be an exception here and there), and mostly 5 stars on medium. Once I improve that much more, it is time to start training myself to do Hard and use that extra fret button. Right now I'm pretty much playing through all the songs that don't have 5 stars on GH1,2&3, and trying to hone my ability as much as I can before attempting hard again. I tried it once already, and had my butt handed to me on the training. I want to know what I'm doing before I try again, although it looks like I might be picking up Rock Band very soon...

LOL.. yah, I would love to get Rock Band too, but there are two things in my way:
1. not alot of space in the house to keep this thing;
2. my wife said she would divorse me ...
hmmm, that would mean more space ...

Y'know, I thought it would be cheaper to pick up the game and drums seperately for Rock Band, but it looks like only $30 cheaper. And I've heard rumors that I would need a game tap which would mean another $20 at least, which would make it $10 cheaper. So screw it, I'm just buying the entire box, and I'll get two more guitars and another microphone to boot.

Well finally...
RedOctane is selling a seperate
Les Paul guitar controller for the Wii. I wonder how long before brick and mortar stores, such as Game Stop, will have it in stock.
And this new
handheld version of the game for the DS sounds interesting. It may actually prompt me to get Beorn and Hyperception each a DS as birthday gifts...

I didn't know much about this game until this past weekend when some friends told me about it. Later that day, I was in a Best Buy and watched some kid wear this game out. Looks like alot of fun!

I bought it as a Hannukah present for Beorn, dlb, thinking if we could get him interested in it it might be really good for his poor fine motor skills. He hadn't expressed interest in it, so I knew getting him to play would be a struggle.
Hyperception has played it daily since we got it, and Beorn has always watched. He finally started playing about an hour a day a month ago. For a kid who has received occupational therapy for both gross and fine motor skills, and has shown no interest in music or of having any musical ability, he seems to be doing well. He has passed everything with at least three star ratings up through the first two gigs on Expert.
...meanwhile, I can't even get through the tutorial...

Picked up a knock-off guitar controller for the Wii today for $60. Hyperception's birthday is a week from today, so I hope my hiding place is good, and that the knock-off is as good as the Red Octane Les Paul version. Supposedly Game Stop will let me return it otherwise. And it will be nice to have one Les Paul and one Fender (not sure which model it is supposed to be though) style controller.
We'll see.

Bought Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's the other day. Paid full price too, like an idiot. Something else that makes me feel like an idiot is that it only has 30 songs on it. Smallest selection so far. But I'm a bit of a completionist, so I now have all of them released. Now I just need to wonder if it will be worth it to pick up Aerosmith Guitar Hero when it comes out. I'm leaning towards not so far, but we'll see.
