Okay, GHIII purchased. I played for a while yesterday, and now that I'm at work, while my hand appreciates the break, the rest of me wants to get home and do some more.
Just like several other weird controller games, I couldn't get the excitement of it until I actually got it home and gave it a try. I'm such a mark for videogame peripherals. My Eye-Toy, microphones and DDR pads agree.

Life is a waste of time
Time is a waste of life
So get wasted all of the time
And you'll have the time of your life

I got Rockband for X-mas and it allows you to switch the controller for lefties. Check and see if GHIII has the same option.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. Yup! My lovely wife got it for me. We had x-mas eve at our house this year and by 9:00 PM the entire family, included extended relatives, were playing. Although I must admit, the most effective group was me on lead, my wife on bass, my brother on drums and my female cousin doing vocals! Most addictive party game ever! You have Rockband?! You lucky *trails off into a string of invective*

Well...it is addictive. My kids were playing all morning a couple of days ago, and they asked me to try (in an obvious attempt to humiliate the old man) it out.
Well I sat down, picked up the AXE, and proceeded to kick ass. I scored 91% on each of my first attempts! Now, I am in Japan (level 7), and have accumulated 1.3 million points, and have a shitload of cash.
Some qurestions: Is there any advantage, other than aesthetics to upgrading your guitar? Also....why won't the band stop setting cars on fire? You'd think that after a few fires...the thrill would be gone.
It took me 5 attempts to getr through Tom Morello, but beat Slash on my 1st attempt.
Needelss to say, the kids are freaked out that I am rockin' steady.
To be fair...we are still all anly on "easy", but I still love the fact that I am the best in the house so far.
