Well another way of getting there would be recruiting an active membership of say 33,000. With a world population of roughly 7.4 billion that doesn't sound like a lot. The bigger problem we may face in the future is the storage capacity of The Watch. We may not be able to contain 2 million posts.

I have a hunch that by the time we reach 2 million posts the storage space required will be so small by today's reckoning that it will be laughable.

Remember 500 megabyte hard drives? I do and they are now all occupying space in land fills and recycling centers. Cloud storage 15 years from now will have such capacities that our current storage will hardly use up a fraction of the amount one will be offered for a "free" account.

No worries.

I remember 10MB hard drives. When they were the new hotness. But that's a different problem.

I do remember them. I just didn't want to clear off the cobwebs. I was a junior in high school when they were new but I was exposed to them years later. Of course I was removing them from dusty old computers and seeing if I could upgrade to larger drives.

This machine was common around the office when I first began with computers.
The brand new, rockin Gateway 486/33 with 20mb hard drive!

I have a 2TB external drive and a 1TB drive. Sounds like I need to go shopping to keep up. I don't have enough data to fill up the 3TB I have but that's no reason not to be prepared. :-)

The more space you get, the more data you will accrue. It's like some weird fact of computer life.

I just looked and our post count for a January is the worst since 2003. :-(

A count up? Who ever heard of a count up - it's a countdown not a count up! ;)

After a relatively active March, looks like we're facing a slow April.

Still 989,799 posts to go before we hit 2 million.

Who made the millionth posting the end? (It had to be you Av, didn't it? Anything else would have been unfair! )
