hmm
A random weekend in July comes out to $144. Not bad price. Unfortunately, it's out of JFK in NYC. Yuck! Crazy place to get to. Unfortunately, LaGuardia airport only goes to Florida.

Sounds complicated, but those things change all the time. We shall see!

GREAT NEWS!! GREAT NEWS!!
Fisty called this morning to say that he has a week off that is the same as one of mine!! He will be off from August 6-14.
So we were thinking that the retreat weekend would work well on August 6 & 7.

(That way I can use Aug. 14 to drive home the following weekend).
Would that weekend work for all others??
Following that weekend, we will hang out for the following week doing kid friendly things, visiting NYC (hopefully catching a baseball game), the Delaware Water Gap National Park (to see the waterfalls, have picnics, etc), and just hang out and relax and have fun. If anyone would be interested in any of that, please let us know!

Sorry for the double post, but this thread just changed pages and is all stuck again.
This is just my attempt to get the last real post to show, by giving the thread a bit of a kick in the pants.

Maybe the White Gold in the hands of an ur-vile isn't such a bad thing after all.
Russell is going to put in for that weekend off. It's hard to say what will happen with us tho. I hope to be done with chemo by then, but Naeem is still a question as well. If we are not there in person, we will be there in spirit.

Aug 6-7 weekend good for me. Are we planning getting things rolling on Friday Aug 5th?

I will probably be driving in on Friday, but its a goodly drive so probably won't be getting in until late. I'll be more than happy to join everyone for breakfast at either Panera or Krispy Creme first thing Saturday morning, though.
I will have to talk to hub, but there might be a possibility we could drive in on Thursday and be in place on Friday if people would like us to. I am free that previous week, so that might work.

I think we might be able to be flexible on that.
I believe Fist is working Friday, but day shift so might be free in the evening, Don.
I'll track down the hotel link and post it this weekend. If that one is out of anyone's budget range, I believe that Fist has also said that there are a couple of other hotels in the immediate vicinity...

Hopefully we can find things in everyone's price range.
In case anyone is interested, the Mets are home that weekend against the Cubbies. They are away the following week. The Yankees, however, are not home the weekend, but are home that following week, first against the White Sox, then Texas.

dlb, will you be able to get off Friday the 5th, but not Monday the 8th? If that's the case, let me know what flight times your considering. If you get a flight arriving in the evening, I'll find a babysitter. If you can only arrive during the day, I'll see about getting that day off also, or calling out sick.
Furls... I'm not even going to hope!!!

Here is the promised hotel link. Right now my reservations run from Aug. 4 to Aug. 13, subject to change if needed. the AAA and government rates are both quite a bit cheaper than the listed rates.
And if this one fills up, or won't suit for some reason, Fist assures me that there are others very nearby.

All in all I would rather be in California. However, New York is a nice place to meet and I will see all of you there. I've been wanting to take Duchess to the Delaware Water Gap for more than twenty years.
