I'm beginning to believe that installing that subforums thing would be the best solution for the various things being discussed recently. If you're going to have forums for every book, a subforum would be much better than increasing the index page further.

Excellent post Murrin.
Personally, I think the index page is too long as it is. I perferred the old layout.

Yeah yeah, I think sub-forums would be a good idea too. Just give me some time to look at the code, and install it.-jay

Nice one Jay.

That'll be great. It's a pity that the new version doesn't allow for the old sub-index pages though.
Will it be possible to fake it, as I was discussing with Murrin somewhere?

I think it'd probably be simple enough. Rather than locking the top-level forum (which would lock subforums, I think), you could set permissions so that no one could post in it. That would leave a list of forums at the top of the page, pretty similar to what used to be here.

Thanks Murrin. That way we could have a "Last Chrons" Forum, with a list of the subforums inside it.
Sounds like the best solution to me. Feel free to disagree, everybody.

In fact, even though it would probably confuse people and lead to lots of post moving, you could have it open as a general 'last chrons' discussion area, with the subforums as a place for spoilerish discussion.

Last time I saw Vain, he was hanging out at an Elohimfest with some dude named Findail; the two of them just vanished. That was right before Jay showed up with his new Ban Stick......

Har har har har.
I do have a degree in computer science... If I can't figure out how to install something like this, then, well, I guess I suck. Heh.
Besides, why do you think I've been messing around with so much of the forum? Because I'm crazy? Because I'm bored? No no no, it's for
practice. Now I'll be able to easily install the subforums mod.
Er...yeah. That's the reason. We'll go with that.
Sheesh, you try to do something nice for people, and see how they treat you.

I vote for "open now"...
I think it would be a good place to post speculation and what if.. ? questions until the ARC comes out.
That way the Runes forum doesn't have information that some readers may not want.
Jay?

Jay?
Well, I agree with your point. But the majority have voted otherwise.
