Thanks. It hurts like the hot place sometimes but every day it's a little better. I'm on meds so I have to be careful not to overshare.

It's a beautiful Sunday, I'm home alone wasting the irretrievable hours of my life on the internet, and I am very okay with that right now.

I heard you can only catch malaria once. That because it never fully leaves the body. You can recover from the bout of infection it causes then it goes quiet.
But can flare up at different times. You never really get rid of it.
Of course in the US you are excluded from giving blood because of the disease.

Yeah, once you've got it, you've basically got it forever, and it recurs every now and then.

As for me...well...it's Monday.

Meh.

Latest medical update.

I met with the second plastic surgeon last week, and she feels I am a candidate for Flap surgery. However, she wants me to lose at least 20 to 30 lbs., first.

She also feels trying to match the remaining breast, even if I have a lift done, is difficult. Although the BRACA genetic testing did come back negative, like my sister's, my oncologist feels that, with my history of three cancers since entering my 50s, and my mother's history with breast cancer, there is something going on. She is referring my to genetic counseling, and we're going to try to get a more complete panel done. But, we expect a fight with insurance, so the testing probably won't happen right away.

That said, the masectomy surgery can not wait. So, after all is said and done to this point, I have decided to go bilateral, and have a nonskin saving procedure done. I really don't want to potentially go through this again, and the plastic surgeon says I would have better results for my body starting from scratch.

So, I'll be flat chested for awhile. At least until I lose the weight the plastic surgeon wants me to lose.

Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, June 27th. I don't have a check in time yet.

I'll appreciate your continued well wishes and healing prayers.

Theres nothing wrong with being flat chested. I am so glad you can have reconstructive surgery .. So having both breasts removed will enable both to be reconstructed together?

That sounds an awesome way forward. All the best for the 27th. Sending wellness and healing wishes your way ❤️

Yay. When I was going through breast cancer stuff, I was totally convinced I would test positive for BRCA in spite of the fact I didn't have a great amount of evidence for that.
I was really relieved when I didn't.

This is exactly what I was wondering about when I saw what you said in The Galley.
I thought you'd probably be getting the mastectomy done, and get things started for future plastic surgery, as you're losing the weight to be able to have the plastic surgery.... wanted to hear it for sure though!
Lots of things happening all at once.
I'll appreciate your continued well wishes and healing prayers.
Yes. May it be well with you. Peace.

I'm off to a fine start this Tuesday. I woke up thinking it was Saturday. Then, making coffee, I poured the water into the coffee bean grinder rather than the kettle. And when i realized what I did I poured the remaining water into the trash instead of down the day. I should just stay home today. :)

Take an aspirin ASAP and see a doctor as soon as you can, Damelon. I had a similar episode a bit more than a decade ago, and found out it was a transient ischemic attack or "mini-stroke."

So, I'm pretty sure I have a stress fracture in my foot; walking to work yesterday was pretty painful. For some reason, though, I still walked back home, and apparently walking in a way that kept weight off the part that's injured has strained my calf muscle so that today it hurts like hell whenever I flex it a certain way. Right now the only way I can walk semi-comfortably is by turning my leg and walking it sideways.

And yet I still walked to work and back today. I feel like this was a pretty bad idea. I think I need to somehow talk myself into actually getting a taxi to work tomorrow.

Murrin, can you get it looked at? Perhaps an orthopaedic boot would help.

Its just that time of life ;) :P hahahahahaha

Hope you get to feeling better Murrin and definitely get it checked out .. its not good for the long term, ignoring a break .. though I will say the foot is one of the worst places to get a break .. from a recovery perspective.
