I've always been the sort of person who can turn an insult into an honorific title. Still, the letter I was writing required a certain amount of tact; the subject was laden with potential controversy. It didn't help that I was daydreaming about birds swooshing across a summer meadow.

My temptations to show partiality were painfully obvious to me - and yet I could not recuse myself from this conversation. I stuffed down the urges to mindlessly reuse some placation, tried to give him real patience and a little more silent ear-time. All I could think was, "That's me: the refuse of this world."

The atmosphere in the room provoked me, so I moved out onto the sun-dappled lawn to get some air. As I wandered to the irised area of boggy shade at the edge, my dowdy dirndl swooshing about my ankles, I decided without even thinking to run across the mossy plank over the rill into the forest and just keep going.

I felt like a lackey wielding a large utensil in a land war. The document I was about to submit was emblematic of failure. Being the holiday season, it seemed it was time for Gina to go to her pantry and look for what she had stored that would contribute to this year's family dinner.
Far back on the topmost shelf, she spied a jar of pickled baby corn ears that she had forgotten about.
She wanted to seize it and use it for the tossed salad she was planning to serve.

Not doing three sentences because anything from that mythology stuff cries "Sorus".... umm... and/or because I am kind of ignorant...

Still, I will accept the challenge.
Persephone scowled at the gilt-edged invitation postmarked from Mount Olympus. The wording was cordial enough on the surface, but it could also carry the implication that only a rube would spend the Dionysia Festival in the Underworld. She sensed Hera's hand in the phrasing, though she would have to tread carefully - it wouldn't do to make a fallacious accusation.

Because the kids were acting unusually hyper this morning, it seemed fitting to give them their sleds as presents before the holiday had arrived.
That way, they could use up their excess energy sliding down the serpentine pathway on the high hill a few stone's-throws away.
Now that the wood was all cut for the winter, there was nothing else to be done for exercise.
