You decided to take up Mambo and tonight is your big debut dance recital?

Just got this email from Duchess:
Thanks for your voice mail yesterday; that was very sweet. I am a bit under the weather right now from a combination of things. I tend to be like a cat when sick; I do not like to be around people when sick and/or grouchy which is why I have been staying away from the Watch and the Hangar. I cannot return your phone call, as I have not been able to talk for over a week now due to a respiratory infection.

Hope all is going well with you and your family! Say hello to everyone at the Watch and Hangar for me. Feel free to share this email if you wish.

Jenn! Give up while you're ahead! I mean, if you saw me dance you'd realise why that is just SO wrong in SO MANY different ways!

No!

On a semi-related topic: So I think I'm "nesting" (that weird things women do a couple of weeks before they give birth--ya know...wash all the curtains, clean every cupboard, rewash every clean piece of clothing in the house because they're doing anything to keep their mind off the impending birth). And, no Jenn, that doesn't mean I'm pregnant!

BAHHHHHHHHHHHH! :S

You have had a vision of the future in which Orlando Bloom meets you on a deserted beach and falls madly in love with you and whisks you away to a tropical island where you live happily ever after?

Well, i think I've had one of the worst weeks of my life in a long time. First of all, a falling out with a person I really care about, then my damn thermos leaked into my bag & wet everything in it, insomnia for three days straight and not what I call "quality sleep" in the last couple of days, an enormously taxing day on Tuesday having to work til late then follow up with rehearsals til 10pm, evil headache next day, bloating/cramping/nasty female stuff, and last night my nephew freaked out at the dinosaur show I'd been looking forward to for weeks. The SOUND was too much for his sensitive little ears, and we had to leave because his shriek of "I WANNA GO HOOOOOOOME!!!" drowned out the show. I got to see ONE baby dinosaur hatched from an egg, and a peek at a velociraptor as it came on stage! (Sea, a warning to you if you wanna take Son of. Be prepared to lose $130 if he, as a four year old like Daniel, decides to chuck a wobbly!) So we had to go home, with not much chance of a refund.

I need a holiday. Or a bullet in the head.

Awh Elfy. Sorry to hear all that! I know what insomnia is like (I haven't been sleeping well for a while!).

And, well, sorry that the dinosaur thing went so badly. But, tell ya what, if I go and SOS decides to chuck a wobbly I'm gunna say "Look darlin, you see that big dinosaur there...the one with the HUGE teeth...well if you don't shut up and start enjoying yourself I'm going to FEED YOU TO IT!"  Would I do that? YES I WOULD!!!

Serioulsy though, sorry to hear you're having a rough time and I hope you're back on top of things soon!

Oh Jenn: if it were Viggo... <swoon> ...but alas - !

:S

You know, I chase rainbows--things that are just so far out of my reach, things that most people only dare to dream, things that no matter how many steps I take I don't feel like I'm getting any closer to. There are some things in my life that I have invested so much time, energy, and love into...but often I've been left thinking "Girl, why are you doing this! Stop deluding yourself!" I've cried torrents of tears, there have been days when it's all become so much I have felt like I no longer want to breathe, times when I've just wanted to give up. But I never have. Maybe it's because I'm stubborn, maybe it's because I'm a dreamer, maybe it's just because "it is". What ever the reason, no matter how much angst, there are a few things that I have always believed in...

...and today is a "validation" day. I've finally caught one of my rainbows. I am 33 years old...and I've been watching this rainbow for most of my life. And that makes me think, if I can catch one...well, I think I can catch a million of 'em!

The Gods have smiled down on me and I am grateful.
