My :bestwishes: and  to anyone who needs them, I'm afraid I didn't have much of a presence on the Watch recently. That's not through much of a decision of mine, it's mostly work+other distractions+having little access to my computer most of the time. Hopefully this is quite temporary.

I am having another of my super-hyper-happy days...

In about an hour, I get to teach my algebra student the lesson with the "FOIL" mnemonic...
...and in connection with a little class tradition that goes on at her school, I'm planning to wear some aluminum foil when I go to the library for that lesson.
I think I'll go with the "traditional" tin-foil hat and see if I get any comments.

They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.

I had some interesting boyfriends. This was not one of my better picks, but we did make some memories.

The last few days have not been good. My little sister lost her battle with cancer on Saturday.

Yesterday, my damned computer wouldn't work. After a lengthy diagnostic process, my inability to pinpoint any specific problem (nothing had changed) led me to do a windows reinstall...which included backing up all my steam games in preparation for re-installing them.

Turns out the problem was my firewall. How did I find out? When I re-installed it, it promptly caused the same problem. Which simultaneously prevented me from uninstalling it.

Finally worked around that, and re-installed a few basics, and while I was doing so, I discovered that my ISP has blocked P2P networks.

Got around that (for a few bucks a month) by 1am and left it at that.

So here I sit with a whole bunch of stuff still to install. Bloody computers.

I'm pretty sure responses like that are why it's a lot of peoples' least favourite word in this context. ;)

Love, love, love my Apple. I've only made 2 good decisions in my entire life. An Apple and a Prius. Never a hiccup with either of them. (Actually after 5 years I screwed up my last one and burnt out the screen but it was completely my fault so it doesn't count.)

Still waiting for you to make a third good decision, where you seize your artistic destiny and move to La Connor, Roslyn, Taos, or some similar community that will nurture your abilities...and get you away from The City that sucking your life away. Slower than it used to, but still doing it.

At least with a PC when something goes wrong, I can fix it myself, even if it takes a while. :P

And in other news, I finally sorted out my shelving problem. Spent 10 hours yesterday putting up new book shelves and re-shelving all my books.

I don't have a single book lying on the floor anymore. (I'll post pics later.) And now, under the terms of my agreement with the GF, I can start buying books again. :D
