Spoiler
I'm expecting to see our friend back when he was an ordinary man, how he became what he is, and how Jacob "betrayed" him.

Z wouldn't want to see what we're discussing, depsite how mild a spoiler it is. He's even opposed to watching previews, I believe

I leave the room before the preview for next week comes on. But luckily I haven't read the previous page. I have no idea what you guys are discussing.

It's getting harder for me to have reasons to come back to this thread. This is becoming another Twin Peaks. Falling apart at the end. If they can run out of ideas this fast, I'm glad they're ending it now.

The Jin/Sun moment has been building for 2 seasons, and that's what they give us?? Compare that to the Des/Pen "reunion" call in the Constant. No comparison. This season is a shadow of its former seasons.

I thought season 3 was progressing not very well for a while, but then they pulled off an amazing finale and my confidence in the show was restored. Maybe ditto for season 4 (I mean, I liked that season, also, but I don't remember if I doubted it at some point, too). Hopefully 6 will turn out the same way.

M.S., I'm hopeful it will have a good ending. They certainly know how to do finales. I suppose I shouldn't have considered this season one big finale.

I did like how we're now seeing sideflashes of everyone, rather than single characters. That's what they usually do in finales, so it feels like we're in climax-mode from here on out. The war has finally begun. And I liked Jack's choice.

I think it's a given that any ending they could choose to have will have some people liking it, some people hating it, some people being blown away, and some people being underwhelmed.

I'm hoping the last two episodes were like the sea being sucked back before the tsunami hits.

Exactly. In fact, we should all remember this is TV. How many times has the finale of a series wrecked your view of the entire show? Or confirmed your high opinion?

But I disagree about the last 2 episodes being "filler" or whatever disappointing description is used. Each episode is a stage of the story, and I really doubt they've put in anything besides some throwaway dialogue that doesn't push the story forward.

My only disappointment is that I can't watch the remaining episodes NOW.

I haven't looked at the recent comments, I'm just put off, for lack of a better term. I can't stop watching, but too much rehash/predictability, OK the plot moved forward---to where?

Any particular reason there's no new ep this week?

It's a novel form of torture.

Anyone hear me yell "GAH!!!" at 9pm EST last night? I bet some of you did.

I even spilled my LOST marguerita.
If you’re an avid viewer of ABC’s Lost you were probably pissed that last night’s episode was a rerun. Over the past few seasons, the show has been running straight with no repeats and out of the blue we’re forced to watch Richard’s backstory–again? What the hell? We thought the whole reason the show started premiering in February was so we could avoid this type of crap. Thank God the folks over at the TV Squad got to the bottom of this and discovered the real reason behind the scheduling faux pas.

According to “Lost” publicist, Jeffrey Fordis the repeat episode that aired was already pre-planned. ABC picked up 16 episodes of the show to cover 17 weeks, hence the glitch in Tuesday’s mostly new lineup. We’re not sure why they chose this week in particular to throw it in. It might have something to do with May sweeps and them not wanting the show to end too early.

Fordis says the people in the programming department made the decision as to what rerun would air and when. But his overall response seemed kind of vague. In the world of “Lost” you can’t trust anyone, not even their PR people.

This still doesn’t stop us from feeling cheated. We’re used to seeing new episodes back-to-back and last night completely messed up our weekly rhythm. It’s just not a Tuesday without some fresh Jack and Sawyer action on the small screen.

This was the "enhanced version" of Richard's story, which I actually was hoping to see at some point, but I was definitely smoldering when I was looking forward all day to a new show and this popped on.

Nonetheless, there was some added info to this enhanced version; mostly stuff they had to explain when it wasn't apparent the first time, I guess; such as the medicine was fake anyway, Richard was on the boat about a week before MIB came, etc. I did notice they removed one of Richards lines as he was talking to the priest. In the orig ep, Richard says the killing was an accident, but in this rerun that line is removed. Rather an odd choice of a line to remove.

I'll be missing the next two weeks of Lost, so I will not be visiting this thread till mid-May. I start my 2 week Oz trip tomorrow, and I'll be taking a Sydney to LA route back and forth, so I'll have some Lost tunes on my IPhone to "enhance" various parts of the airport and flight. ;)

Aw shucks, people. I don't know why no one remembers, but each of the last 2-3 seasons, there was a blank week. It has never gone straight through, even when the season started in January. I didn't post anything, but an episode guide website (I've had it in favorites so long I forget its name and URL) I check at various times had the skip noted there.

Now I'm feeling guilty.

I felt cheated too. Part of the Tuesday ritual anymore is to go to the Lost ABC site and they give one or two short little scenes (usually at the beginning of the episode) that usually tell you nothing other than who they might be focusing on. Slapdown is occasionally funny but hasn't been recently, and Untangled is regularly stupid and funny.

But pulling it up Tuesday, it said the name of the episode that was coming up next and I was confused. I checked yahoo's TV listings and confirmed. Hell, they could have at least warned us in last weeks ending episode, "In two weeks...."

...Why the hell are Jin and Sun sitting having an intimate conversation together in English?

Edit: Okay, finished the episode. Fairly satisfying overall, but I still think Jin and Sun spent more time speaking English to each other than felt right.

As for where the stage stands now, we have a set up for the rest of the season to be Locke versus everyone else, and with Locke now openly trying to kill the candidates we can expect to see more of those two children who keep popping up to torment him and tell him he's not allowed to do this. This'll allow us to get deeper into why he wants this, and why he is not allowed to kill them directly. Desmond will return next episode, and he'll have to be the one who provides us with a goal for the season - what they need to do to repair things and take up the role of Jacob's replacement.

In the sideways, Jack is beginning to get a little spooked about the fact that everyone he encounters turns out to have shared the same flight with him. Maybe with desmond reappearing it's time for Jack to have his awakening.

Not a great episode, but the gloves are now off, aren't they.

Three staple characters taken out...

I believed Jack. I think that they should have left the bomb alone.

-----

I am getting worried about the ending. I am hearing that it will be "enigmatic" and "raise questions".

If anyone is waiting for a satisfying wrap up of loose ends and answered questions, it's starting to sound like they will be disappointed.

Pretty good episode. One of the better ones this season. Very sad. My 9-yr-old cried his eyes out.

Later, Jimmy Kimmel joked, "Well, they killed off all the foreigners on Lost tonight."

Wow! 1st person I've ever met (or non-met) who watches Jimmy Kimmel!
I said the same thing to my Tam at the end of the show. :P
