Yep

She was complaining that she had nothing of interest to read while waiting for the next HP book, which is why I finally said she could read TC. (I was her age when I first read them, so I couldn't deny her them any longer.) At least she won't have to wait 20 years for the rest of the story like most of us here did!!
Now Heidi wants to read them...she's just turned 12...
And no, Fist...I heard that phrase somewhere or read it somewhere. Stephen didn't say it. Winston Churchill keeps popping in my mind as the person who said it. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Excellent point. The friend who introduced me to TCTC years ago did so just after TWL came out. He thought it must be have been a more powerful thing for me to read TWL immediately after TPTP, rather than years later, as he was forced to do. Heck, they didn't even know a 2nd Chrons would come out when TPTP ended. Now, of course, we all think the same of Brooke.

There is a whisper riding along the night as I lay watching the stars on the beach. The ocean lulls me to dreaming, and I hear the Voice of God in the breeze. The sun has long since set beyond the line where world meets sky. The peace here breaths out along the whisper. Peace, yes, serenity, grace. Oh there are places on this earth that are so close to heaven, all one has to do is send their soul forward and fall through the gate.
“Pray here.” The voice whispers. “Here.”
Sweet Jesus, Lord, Son of the Father, grace the world with your light. It spins in chaos, in horror, in tragedy. Pain, sorrow, grief, bloodshed, war, terror. And some of Your children have forgotten Your Voice, Your sacrifice, Your gifts. Some have lost You, Jesus. Lost You and seek You. Help me find them, help me bring them back to You. The way of this world falters. Its heart bleeds. And here, where peace is certain, I can hear it weep.
I am only one, and I am not strong of body. But, Jesus, my heart is Yours, my soul is Yours, my very life is Yours. My faith is strong. This prayer is not for me. No. Not for me, I have all I need. I plead for the world. I plead for its salvation. I plead for its complete deliverance from Satan’s clutches. I plead for the light of liberation. So that all the world will be bathed in the peace that lies here, in this little out of the way hovel. I plead for all the lost to find their way home.
My days here grow short. And somehow, I feel the days of the world also grow short. I can feel it tremble beneath my feet, feel the air shudder in anxious trepidation. Its end draws near. And it is afraid. So, hear my prayer, Jesus, Son of the Father. Shine the sweet light of Heaven down on the world You sacrificed Yourself for. Rain peace down on its desperation. Grace us once again with Your awesome presence. We are not deserving, but we are in need…Of You.
If I give my life
If I lay it down
Will You turn this life around
Will I be made clean
By this offering of my soul
Will I be made whole
Again…
If I give my world
If I lay it down
Will You turn this world around
Will it be made clean
By this offering of its soul
Can it be made whole
Again….

This is a first for me, posting on this thead. Many times I've tried but I couldn't find the right words.
This time it's easier. I'm just letting everyone know that, yesterday morning, Danlo read the entry sent to him. Since we never made it to Los Alamos on Sunday, he read it while standing at the rim of the Grand Canyon. duchess also read a note from VS, on missing Shadowlurker.
I have pictures, which I'm going to try to find a way to post over the next few days.

God bless you all
Stephen and Isaiah smiled then, I'm sure.
Love you all!
Peace
I love you in a place
where there's no space and time
I love you for all my life
you were a friend of mine
and when my life is over
remember when we were together
we were alone
and I was singing this song for you.

Wow.

I'm very honoured. Then again, I'm honoured to have known Isaiah, even if it was only for such a short time.

On a prayer, in a song
I hear your voice and
It keeps me hanging on
Raining down
Against the wind
I'm reaching out till
We reach this circle's end
And you come back to me again.
This song, by Garth Brooks, always makes me think of my Uncle.
