I am BUMMED today!
My hot water tank started leaking two days ago and
after scraping together my pennies and begging for dollars,
I bought and installed a new tank.
Today when I got home from work, lo and behold, there is a small leak.

This time it is in one of the joint connections and I can't get the #%*! -ing to stop!
Anybody know how to braze copper to aluminum?
Have you hugged your arghule today?

Yeah, I find boots comfortable too, probably because I have quite thin (and thus weak) ankles. So I never gave TC's boot-wearing much thought either.

Well, my morning got off to a good start: Having just got up, I was bumbling around in the loungeroom for about five minutes and then got FRIGHTENED TO DEATH by my partner (who is supposed to be at work but who was in fact lying asleep on our day bed). Nothing like finding a body lying around in your house that you're not expecting. Why isn't he at work...apparently because he "couldn't be bothered". Hmmm, if only there was a "I couldn't be bothered" in my parenting clause. I'd love to take a day off! :P

Sorry about that Gil.

Just do what I do, when I'm sick! Take a shot of hot sauce, and chase it with a glass of cold black tea.

That'll help! As long as you dont chuck it. ;)

Nah, see if you can find some Tapiteo. That's what I use.

This may be the first short story I've ever actually finished, with a proper ending and everything. It's certainly the first whole short story I've written in one sitting (about four hours, and the story clocks in at just over 5500 words).

I reiterate: I feel...confused...and exhilerated.
Ok, now a writer acquaintance of mine (not professional - an amateur, like me) is trying to persuade me to attempt to get it published. So today I'm feeling...gratified. :D
I'm sure you thought about it, but have you considered checking with Joy? She's looking for novels, novellas and short stories for her publishing company...

I didn't know she even had one... 8O I sincerely appreciate the suggestion, and my immediate reaction was something along the lines of  ...but the more I think about it, the more I think not. It would put both of us in an awkward position, since we're already acquainted. Business of any sort is, I find, generally best conducted with strangers (or at least, people you don't know socially).

Again, thanks for the suggestion. :)

DAMN! 2 hours...2 hours...although it's more like 15 minutes now... :P (and to demonstrate how foggy I am, I actually "edited" your post and posted what I've just said rather than replying to your post...then had to go back and change it...BAH).
