Thanks. You got me playing Ingress. :drevil:
Aw crap. I'm sorry.... Blue or green? My kids are green. (I forget which team is which -- I only know the colors. )
I'm Blue. Resistance team, aka Smurfs. Green are Enlightened, aka Frogs. It's an amusing game. I could see it getting me out a bit more at lunch - once the temperature rises above 10 degrees.

Lazy. Had to buy a new washing machine. Going to lunch tomorrow with a very distant cousin or something of mine tomorrow, a Jewish GLBT rights activist from New York who's in the country for her nephew's wedding.

Sorry about the new washer, Av. It's not something I'd pick to blow several hundred bucks on.

Yeah, it's pretty addictive, from what I can see. Careful with your data usage, though. Batty's always complaining to me now because MagickMaker uses up nearly their whole shared data plan by three weeks into the month.

Ouch, no. I just got out of having to buy a new vacuum cleaner by fixing my old one, though I think I may have voided the warranty. My philosophy has always been that the definition of 'user serviceable parts' varies by user. This sometimes turns broken items into very broken items.

:LOLS: Well, my old one was pretty old, so it's not like it should have come as a surprise. But yeah, not ideal. Oh well... *shrug*

Knee hurts. Was keeping me awake last night. Preemptively taking ibuprofen tonight. Hope it helps.

I hope so, too, MsMary! :)

I spent most of my day off yesterday holed up in the apartment, writing. Got the first draft of the next book done -- yay! :R Then Batty texted me a reminder to take the car down to the gas station to put air in the tires. Good thing she did, because of course I'd forgotten to do it. The gas station at the bottom of the hill sells really expensive gas, but their air pump is free -- and not only that, but if you go when they're open, the nice mechanic comes out and puts air in your tires for you. I've been seeing the low pressure idiot light since it got really cold out, and I can't decide whether it's the cold or a slow leak. Hoping it's the cold...

All our air is free here. And all petrol stations have attendants. I was seriously confused in the UK the first time I realised you were supposed to do it yourself. :D

I had that experience with lack of attendants when I left NJ. In NJ all the stations have attendants.

I ended up taking extra-strength tylenol on Monday night, as well. Slept ok, but after a day at work yesterday it was painful to walk last night.

I went to Pilates after work yesterday, taking a Pilates reformer class, which should help strengthen the knee. My physical therapist use the reformer for part of my therapy exercises after my two knee surgeries.

But the knee was quite painful last night. Took ibuprofen again last night. Then took half a Vicodin before bed. Sometimes that helps to break the cycle of pain. We'll see how it feels today.

Same in Oregon. Confused the crap out of me, the first time I had to stop for gas for the rental car and couldn't find a self-serve pump. When stations in the US started converting over to self-serve (lo these many years ago...), it was more expensive to have the attendant pump your gas for you. So naturally, being cheap ;), I trained myself to always use the self-serve pump.

Hope your knee is better today, MsMary. :)

Hello, my name's Iolanthe and I'm addicted to Facebook.

Well, not exactly addicted, glued to would be a better expression. Just over a month ago my Family History Society, of which I'm President ( ) decided to create a facebook page. We had a session with an expert and a few days later I became an administrator with a n other. At the same time I had the brilliant idea of creating a FB page for my own research interest. Between the two I'm spending soooo much time trying to find interesting and enlightening things to post, only two or three things a day (my co-admin doesn't seem to want to post much) and what with that and a very time consuming project (that I've just finished  ) plus all the other stuff I do I haven't had time to do much else. It's a couple of weeks since I even visited the Watch. I shall amend that and try to visit at least every other day in future. Anyway, in just over a month our Society page has accumulated 506 "Likes" which is apparently very good, and my poor page has a fairly respectable 48 "Likes". I also have a closed group to which I also have to post interesting and enlightening things. February has flown by.

And, to top it all, tomorrow my son will be 40. I can't believe I will have a 40 year old child!!! I feel 18 with 44 years experience. :!!!: :!!!:
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

So far, my knee is okay. But I haven't been walking around much, yet. We'll see what happens at my dance class. Maybe I should wear a knee brace...

Maybe you should! :P

Io, you are not the first to get sucked into Facebook. And yes, posting stuff to Pages takes time, especially if you have to hunt for it. But 8O 506 likes in a month is awesome! Nice job!

I ended up not going dancing. Headache, stomach ache this afternoon. Seems to have lifted, for the most part, but too late for dancing.

MsMary, Boo. :( Glad it lifted so quickly, but.. no fun.

Also, ali, I enjoyed your description of the day you just hung out writing and then got a text from Batty reminding you to put air in the tires. I thought the writing sounded like a satisfying day for you, and that last part was great.

My day had been low energy. We're sick with a cold or something over here.. so lots of sitting on the couch or stuff; one excursion to tutor.
I feel tired.

So basically, the next couple of days bode well for work being:
straightforward, not frustrating, and not at all exhausting, huh?

Or maybe I'm not at all on target...

They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.

If you have not read any of ali's fiction, I recommend giving it a try. To minimize any mismatch of perspectives, I think Seasons of the Fool would be a great place to start.
