About to go on a date. She's gonna call me when she closes up shop where she works (some fashion place at the mall...yeah, she's hot). Her name's Adrienne...Adrienne Foul...hrm. Hope she's not too crazy.

I feel happy but there is apprehension lurking at the back of my mind. I have been homeless for two years, borrowing sofa's or spare rooms off a few friends, and recently I have been offered a council flat. I am extremely happy about it but wonder if I will be able to afford the bills, will i be able to afford transport to find a job.... I will find out in less than 2 weeks when I move in.

So there we have it, I am happy but apprehensive.

You'll find a way to cope with it, I'm sure. Having a place of your own to go to is a big improvement.

Had another good day at work today. I'm getting some stuff down pat and learning new stuff every day. I also managed to threaten my boss with bodily harm in the form of a monkey bite and he didn't know what that was so I had to explain. Kids are so sheltered these days. For anyone who isn't familiar with a monkey bite, it's when you pinch the soft underside of the upper arm very hard and twist leaving an extremely dark and painful perfectly round bruise.
On other new job notes, I have an extra long day tomorrow because Sorus has been stuck up front and unable to get her stuff done because the store is shorthanded so I was asked to work some overtime so I can take some pressure off her. I kind of didn't want to because I am still adjusting to being on my feet all day but it is to help Sorus so how could I say no? It also is a really fun group of people. Ceaser (the guy with one working eye) keeps melodramatically bumping into me on purpose so now I keep tapping him on his blind side shoulder so he has to turn halfway around. He cracks me up. There were also two moments today where I responded to him with, "Aye Aye, Captain" and dramatically winked at him and he said, "Oh, that's just cold." and we both laughed. It's good to be working again.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Pretty epic. It's everything you've been told/read/heard about and so much more. And it's impossible to describe it correctly, because I could tell you about this part and this part and this part and you'd understand all of them separately but then when you're there and it's all together in one place and it just hits you like BAM and then you throw something like LSD into the mix (not that, like, I did that. I'm just saying IF that was your thing...) and... ohmigod.

It's something like that. But not at all. And in the end, after you get over being overwhelmed, you realize that it's just a glorified camping trip in the desert.

I have a few pictures that I could post a couple in the album I guess, but I'm mostly in my underwear in most of them, and I'd hate to offend anyone.

You comin next year, right? ;)

Edit: OH! ALSO! I volunteered at the airport and got to go for a ride in a little 4-seater plane above the city, and that was really special. I could see my camp from there :) It's such a nice, organized city:

And the night after the burning of the man, the Temple Burn, is a really, really, really amazing event. Tens of thousands of people surrounding the temple in complete silence, watching as it burns... it was overwhelming.

(Sorry for the derail, but it's Av's fault. You just can't get me started talking about Burning Man 'cause it takes all of my willpower to stop.)

Congrats on your successful desert adventure, Waddley! (I'm totally guessing that your underwear comment was a deliberate ploy to make the guys frantically PM you for photos, right?)

It's a nice formation--but it looks like those South African slums during Apartheid. :P Probably every city after 2012.

Ouch - don't do that on my account. I was still stuck up front all day and I'm not going to get any kind of break until they hire more people. Well, I did accomplish more today than I have recently, but I'm still a week behind.

Appreciate the thought, and it did help, but don't go burning yourself out.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

Another reason to join Facebook. The underwear pictures were all in Waddley's album there, including the ones where she went through "birth" and...well...

I'm glad you had fun at Burning Man Wadds!

Sorus, it's no biggie, don't worry. Were you still there when the crazy guy came in and started OCD rearranging the clearance bins? He had been there for at least three and a half hours or so by the time I left. These older asian ladies came in and tore the bins apart digging for treasure while he was in the midst of his rearranging and even took stuff out of his hands and so he went back and started rearranging it all over again. He seemed to be somewhat obsessed with the pen bin most of all. I love San Francisco. Also, I have been quite enjoying my verbal sparring with Jacob. I may try a new tack tomorrow that consists of looking mortified and working up a faux tear when he gives me crap in front of the regular customers.

Good news and bad news on the HDYFT front.

The good news is that after seven and a half months out of work, I received a very attractive offer today. I will be starting next week in a position very comparable to the one I got "Chased" out of last spring, but doing something I actually believe in, rather than just what some employer is willing to pay me to do.

The bad news is that my doctor convinced me to get a flu shot on Monday, and I have been so sick for the past two days. Never again!

Heh, like Menolly said- If you really want to see the pictures, chances are you've seen them already. Said guys are sooooo totally over it :P This is old news, buddy.

I feel good. I just took a million vitamins, so that always makes me feel nice. (Total placebo effect, I know.)

Well, I haven't been assimilated into Faceborg just yet.

Old news, eh? That's what I get for not keeping up with the Joneses. Or the Hasselhoffs.

I (sometimes) take vitamins, too. Just the chewable kind. But yeah, I'd rather eat an orange than take a pill, given the choice.

Flu shots always gave me the flu too. Hope you feel better soon! :(

And, I sure wish that this truck that keeps hitting me would go park itself somewhere, preferably somewhere desolate, where it will rust and never start up again! :?
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.
