Not one of mine; he was one of the more memorable kittens at the shelter last summer. The naming crew dubbed him Athos, and his two brothers were obviously Porthos and Aramis. There were two other kittens in the room as well - I don't remember their names, but 5 kittens was at least 3 more than I had hands for, and I ended up inadvertently delighting some young visitors - "Look mom, that lady has kittens in her hair!"
There's a reason I adopt adult cats, but seriously, look at that little face.

So, some time on Thursday night, my Ginger cut the hell out of his back right foot, which meant a visit to the vet on Friday afternoon, flu and all.
They shaved his foot, cleaned the wound, gave him antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory, (and me a bill) and told me to keep him indoors until he'd had a follow-up visit on Monday.
So in addition to feeling terrible last night (both of us have this flu), we had to deal with him trying desperately to convince us to let him out all night.
Aww, poor guy. I thought of him the other night - we had a rare thunderstorm here. My brood was typically unfazed, but at one point, Min was sitting on the couch glaring at me with her fur all puffed up and her ears back. That sort of thing says a lot about the relationship between humans and cats. On the one hand, she's crediting me with being able to control the weather. On the other hand, she'd like for me to stop it because she's mildly annoyed.

Deific regard might be a stretch - they credit me with causing earthquakes and storms and whatnot, but they're completely unimpressed. As the saying goes, dogs have owners but cats have staff. Sounds like yours owe you a bonus.

I found out that Patches is actually at least 18 years old, perhaps as much as 20. Which I find almost unbelievable, except that she has lost teeth and no longer hunts, and it took her months for a face wound she got from a fight to heal. But she looks like a middle aged cat, no more. And she still kicks butt!!
Sorus, many years ago I stayed with friends for a few months and the house next door was a no-kill shelter run by a kind of crazy lady, but I admired her commitment-- she did it out of respect for life, she really cared and talked about individual animals like people... anyway in the Spring, it was kitten season and it was wall-to-wall cuteness over there. The fence between yards was 4x4 cattle wire, so the kittens just walked right through. If I went to the fence and said, "Kittens, kittens!" literally dozens would come mewing to me.
A friend came to visit who loved cats and I went outside and called the kittens and scooped up as many as I could hold in my arms and then walked in the house saying "Jonathan! I have a present for you!" and he just melted. We could just bathe in kittens and then send them back to the shelter.
The sad part was when a lot of them got a cerebral infection common in California among kittens. I spent hours helping put eyedrops in, but we lost a lot of kittens. Still, volunteering there was very rewarding. There was a pair of Irish setters that a crazy old man had kept in a closet, and both were so flea-ridden they had no fur left. One was hospitalized, and I gave the other a bath in the crazy lady's jacuzzi. Boy, was that dog grateful.

Squee! That sounds adorable beyond words. Unfortunately it does make it easier for illness to spread when they're all in one communal zone. The shelter I work at has very strict protocols - kittens sharing a room in the adoption center have all had their health vetted (pun intended), and the ones in the hospital wing are all given a health grade on a scale of 1-5 - if you handle an animal with health issues you can't go back to handling healthy animals that day.

My pretty little Luna kitty cat gave birth last night!
A few days ago, she started letting me rest my hand on her belly, and I could feel them moving around. It was really cool. That's the first time I've felt babies in a womb before.
She gave birth to six (!) kittens last night. She's a first time mom, and google told me to expect one to three for a first litter.
Sadly, my favorite little black one died sometime through the night It was the smallest and scrawniest, and she seemed neglectful towards it from the moment it first came out.
