Because our dish receives tv from the middle east, there is a whole different set of commercials, of course. Most are just stupid, and because they're in Arabic, even more annoying. Some are bizarre!
In one commercial, a man is reading from an ornate book to a woman who is laying in a curtained, pillowed room, smiling seductively. Then another man comes in. He offers a spray can of some kind to the man with the book, and the woman looks resentful. The man with the book sprays himself liberally. Then he leaves with the other man, while the woman looks angry and defeated. It's like, what the freeek!??!?
Another African commercial is for Always sanitary napkins. A girl rises to leave a schoolroom and the teacher asks where she is going. "Auntie, I have to check myself." All the girls get up and dance on and around their desks, bending to see the backs of their school uniform dresses, singing, "Check, check, I check myself, every hour every day I check myself." We just about died the first time we saw it, it definitely belongs on YouTube but I haven't found it.

I wonder if it's connected to this.
In 1994 the US Air Force pushed the envelope in potential new weapons, contemplating a chemical spray that could cause homosexual behaviour among the enemy.

Specsavers (cheap optician chain) tend to do witty ads, I like their latest one.

Julie introduced me to the new Sprint series with James Earl Jones and Malcolm McDowell reading texts as they were written.
