OK. I have completely undone that particular mod so hopefully things work better now.

I've had no problems up until yesterday with the "Internal Server Error".

Not just the quote function. All sorts of tags aren't working. For some reason when we post, a bunch of numbers are added to the tag. Leads to all sorts of strange issues.

Very strange. First it displays as [quote:#########]test[/quote:#########]
(# being a number), then when you hit 'edit', you see a completely different string of five letters and numbers stuck into your tags, like so:

[quoteef24e]test[/quoteef24e]

which of course does nothing.

I just got hit by this bug. A post looks all right in the preview window, but the tags get garbled in the actual posting.

And I had went to the trouble of trying to have nice formatting...

I posted this in Q+A under "BBCode mayhem," but here it is again:

I think I have a time-frame for when it happened: kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=333568#333568
Foul's post at 5:09 pm was fine, but dAn's at 7:37 was messed up. Weird. Wish I knew more about this stuff.

[ib37f6]test[/ib37f6]
<i>2nd test</i>

And it's not actually the HTML that's messed up, it's the BBCode (hence the topic name change ;) ). The following HTML tags are supported, so you can use them in place of the BBCode for the time being: b, i, u , pre

<b>bold</b>, <i>italics</i>, <u>underline</u> and <pre>The pre tag: This text is
in a fixed-pitch
font, and it preserves
both spaces and
line breaks
</pre>

While BBCode is down, think you could add <blockquote> to the list of allowed html? It needs css to look any good, but at least it'd set quoted text out.

<blockquote>blockquote has been added as a supported HTML tag, and this is what it does</blockquote>
Dunno how much that helps. Remember to close your tags, folks, or the HTML will carry over to your sig, too. :P

[Edit: Just noticed that the BBCode tags appear to be working in signature lines: kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=333684#333684 ]

Hey, it seems to be fixed.

And here too it seems. Doesn't help with the ones that have already got those weird numbers in though. Editing them out repairs it though.

Don't ask me - I only work here :) Sorry guys but these bugs seem to be intermittent and I have no idea what's causing them :( I'll need to review a few things to check. I may have removed the previous mod and made a booboo

I've deleted the table in the users thingy that kept unread posts - maybe that'll help. However, I am noticing that if you try and read all posts by a user with more than 10 000 posts, it gives an internal server error

Like I said, it needs a css page to look good - or possibly some old fashioned parameters, but I don't think phpBB allows those in posts, just the basic code. With the right settings blockquote can be pretty much identical to what the quote function does.

Edit: A little test.
<blockquote>Test</blockquote>

Edit2: I was right, doesn't work.

Weird. So I go to reply to a post, I click on the more emoticons link and it's taking ages to load. Then I notice the address in the bottom left hand window - it says: www.stopclownpornnow.com What the?!
