That sucks, Av.

I'm having a severely frustrating workweek as well. I deleted the whole rant I wrote about it.

My stress level has gained a soundtrack. Today it decided I needed some ABBA, and came up with Voulez-Vous. That's enough of an earworm as it is, but my mind decided that it needed a German version. Nothing so logical as a translation, just random words. The title became zu viel zu, and it went downhill from there.

Gratuitous German disco has to be one of the worst mutant superpowers ever.

Either that or this job has finally driven me mad.

Good news Sgt. :D

And in other news...it's finally Friday. And next week is a short week. Thursday is a public holiday, so I took Friday off as well for a long weekend.

My internal soundtrack has failed me today. I will have to actually search for something appropriate.

Who just got her follow-up mammogram today?
I did!!!
Bilateral mammogram and no sign of cancer!

This amused me, in spite of my ignorance of German disco.

One can apparently spontaneously create it without any actual working knowledge of the genre, though it may not be very coherent.

That sounds like a warning label, which is probably appropriate.

Well, I'm not saying it happens to everyone. Took me by surprise though, so I suppose it could happen to anyone.

And probably when you least expect it.

Sounds like a potential Monty Python sketch.

Good news Linna. :D

Me? I feel like I have all this stuff to do, and no inclination to do any of it.

I'm super-hyper right now...
I am AMAZED looking back over last week, it seems like such an unreasonably large number of things went WELL. For me and for people I love.

I know we don't look at those things in an unbiased way (especially if "we" are me.) but... oh, man.

Otoh, hyper -> adrenaline-high/intense -> kinda tightly-wound -> kinda feelin' stressy.

Linna, that is excellent news. So pleased for you.

I've had a rather strange week. Had a gall stone flare up on the night of the 15th and writhed until about 7 am, got up for the umpteenth time to be sick and something happened in my head. It felt as though something disembodied had fluttered right through it. At the same time all the joints in my legs unscrewed and I fell (I have a lovely big bruise on my shoulder). I couldn't get any balance at all. Thought I had had a stroke. Managed to get across the top of the stairs to C, fell on our bed and woke C. The rest of that night and the next day are very hazy, but we went to outpatients then to my doc next morning who sent us back to A and E. I apparently had a scan at Lincoln. They sent me to Nottingham by ambulance in the small hours. I woke up to a doctor introducing himself as a brain surgeon, which worried me not a little. Had more ct scans, and an angiogram at Nottingham and the last one was clear of abnormalities. Back home yesterday. Feeling a little woozy and walking very carefully but feeling much better now. This morning I've learned how to do emails and to access the watch on my kindle fire. The predictive text is hilarious. Two weeks rest now so I should be able to boost the September postings :P
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Iolanthe, It's good that you're back on your feet again.

I now have to attend a sort of complementary job centre as I've been unemployed for a while. It's Stress Capital and a godawful drag.

Today I was a half-hour late and worried as hell. The receptionist phoned through to my advisor and then said she was busy and to just go ahead and do my job search for the alotted time. So, I go into the computer room and get down to work for two hours.
When I was done I returned to the reception and asked if I should go straight through to the office to see my advisor or have her phone. My advisor was on her lunch break, I was told, and would have to take a seat and wait.
A half-hour later a fellow comes in and the receptionist phones through and I hear her talk to my advisor. When I ask if she is back from her lunch then the receptionist gives me a blank look, asks my name for the umpteenth time, and then phones through. Oh, she says, it's ok to leave as my advisor will see me next time. Dumbfounded I got the hell out of there pronto, biting my tongue before I said something I'd regret.
And I've got six months of this to look forward to!

Fortunately I start on a Mindfulness course this week that I'm sure will come as a great equalizer.

Landing a new engagement sooner than that would cut this bureaucratic torture short, would it not?
