Hail to all servants of The Land! I have been keeping the legend of the Halfhand alive for uncounted ages here in the northern wilds. Thus I am astonished and also well-pleased to discover such fellow true acolytes of the Ringwielder here at Kevin's Watch! I humbly and gravely pledge to honor the sanctity of this privileged realm.

(Translation: Where I live, the odds of stumbling into someone else who has read The Chronicles are about as low as running across an albino ur-vile. So it's nice to find a corner of the web where people have a good grasp on all things Donaldson. I've already lost a lot of sleep (I need Bloodguard pills)reading all the past threads, but hey, at least I'm up to speed on what's going on! Oh, and I'll try not to make a fool of myself around here.Thanks and I'll head for bed now.

Hey, wait a minute, I'm still awake! Yes, F&F, I did officially join, er, long ages ago, but that's in Land-time. In Earth-time, that would've been, um, just a few days ago? A week at the outside? i'm colin, hereafter leper messiah.

i've read the covenant chronicles (initially under great duress, progressively with pleasure) through the one tree, currently stymied just past the elohim. i've read the gap books, finest space opera i've found in quite a while though i've been saving iain m banks' culture novels for a rainy day. just completed eco's name of the rose, positively floored. also working on stephenson's quicksilver and jaynes' origin of conciousness in the breakdown of the bicameral mind. this is a lit discussion board, no?

i'm married to annie, who is bird and bear here. father of two. we plan to attend the gathering in new mexico next summer, so i'll eventually be meeting some of you.

i'm an IT geek for municipal government, a great place to be these days.
