I feel good. I just had a great evening hanging with Lucimay. Xar pulled a no show so we noshed on the fresh veggie snacks of red pepper/celery/cucumber/carrot with homemade ranch dip, a plate of brie/chevre/aged dubliner sharp cheddar on baguette with very tasty spiced hard salami and a side of fresh honeydew and green grapes. Dessert was raw honey (go figure) and we played a feisty round of Carcassonne. Cyndi got up close and personal with one of the bees but refused to let me take a pic of the bee on her boobie. Good times were had by all. Xar, you lost out bud, seriously.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Too bad about Xar not showing.
It's a beautiful day here today, too. I should get out and take a walk....

The haps from Albq.!
We have the ex-foster boys here for a 2 day overnight so Adrian, Izaac and Grace are going crazy and having a blast! We ate tons of popcorn and watched Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate factory last night--decidedly weird. I tried to order Wilder's Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory-for elementary school PTA movie night next week, but either I or Netfix, mixed up. Tam is away enjoying an hour long birthday (this Monday) massage right now, and I just finished (well maybe not a great dissection, but it does open the start of the book and discussion) the Chapter One entry of LeGuin's The Farthest Shore on Ahira's Hangar (the Watch's sister site) which you can view here: The Rowan Tree.
Almost up to p. 300 in AATE, and ready to go on a long walk in the crisp Autumn air!

I would like to be a part of the Farthest Shore group read. Looks like I need to register at the Hangar. I don't think I have yet, if I have, I've forgotten my password and user name.
For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years

(Sheesh, what a weekend...feel like I need another one to recover. Rained on, ran around, late nights, cut the hell outta my hand...I'm exhausted. )

How did you mangle your hand, Av?
Yesterday was kind of nuts. Did a yoga class first thing, then swam a half-mile. Ran errands, met a friend for coffee, balanced the checkbook (*ugh*), finished re-reading AATE. Amazing how much energy I have after I get some exercise....

I feel your pain, Damelon. I'd put mine off for two months.

Meh...I have a small fireman's hand-axe that happened to be between my chair and the wall...dropped something next to the chair, forgot it was there, reached down for it, and sliced my hand against the edge of the axe. Probably could have done with a couple stiches, but it was about 21h30 on Sunday night, so I just taped it up. Seems to be healing clean though, so no worries.aliantha wrote:How did you mangle your hand, Av?
